Onza is adding a thicker EDC (Enduro Casing) option for 2015. EDC tires use a folding bead combined with a thin layer of butyl designed to improve sidewall stability and reduce pinch flats. It's lighter and more pliable than their DH casings.
For now, the new casing will be available on Ibex and Citius tires in 26 and 27.5-inch sizes.
One small but often overlooked detail about the Ibex tire is the difference between the 27.5 (left) and 29-inch tires (right). Notice the lower profile center tread on the 29-inch tire? That's done to keep rolling resistance and grip consistent between the sizes, playing off the increased contact patch on the 29-inch tire.
