Not wanting to risk possible infringement on SRAM's patented application of narrow/wide chainring technology on bicycles, MRP developed another clever solution that achieves comparable chain retention for 9, 10, and 11-speed drivetrains.
Every other tooth on the Wave chainring alternates left or right, much like a wavy line. The teeth are machined such that they actually flex the chain slightly back and forth as the chain engages, which helps lock it in place. Pricing is expected to be comparable to MRP's current Bling Ring, and they'll be available in late 2014/early 2015 in several mount options.
