How are his rear triangle tolerances?
The propain (and propain accessories) I've seen people ride have developed a lot of play with their rear triangle. We thought it was because it's a solid rear triangle with the links Infront of the bottom bracket which gives it an even bigger leverage to develop play than a normal dual link design.
Got some more info on that one? He has a nasty creak coming from the general BB area that I haven't yet managed to properly diagnose other than checking if the suspension bolts are tight...
I was thinking of this same exact response. I go for the feel. Its really up to the exact frame Im riding to tune the fork to that or the rear shock if it has a wonky tune.
I instructed my friend to get an aluminium Tyee just to be able to run normal internal routing. The carbon verison is headset only...
Was pretty close to getting my wife the Tyee CF6, decided not too after seeing the cable tourism and the mile high seat tube. The geo and sizing was actually very good, as they offered the XS with a pretty small reach and stack that fit my wife pretty well. Oh well.

As far as I know it's pretty common with them that they benefit from fitting shim washers between the frame and bearings.

The links develop quite a bit of play, and they would share shim laterally (I don't know how to describe it, but not around the axle.
They don't have (from memory) an expanding collet style axle for their pivots, just a threaded axle that is tensioned from the pivot bolts, any lateral movement from landing sideways, schralping would develop play eventually, so you get off the shelf washers and jam them in either side of the bearings to make it pretty much a press fit situation, as opposed to really on the bolt tension.
I think that's helpful? It was a over a year ago it came up

I heard its best to run the Fox 38s and Zebs with full dampening. Also important to add an s to the end of every forks name too (cause why not). Find me at your local blue flow trail this weekend blasting Nickelback from my bluetooth speaker.
Wait, I actually run a lot of compression on my 38… are you laughing with me or at me??

Fox 2025 trickling out. Sea Otter is coming up quick...
Doesn't appear to be any external differences on the Float X2 vs 2024, except for a new Kashima gold reservoir decal replacing the orange on aftermarket shocks.
Another Beautiful bike ruined by cable tourism, a real plague on this market.

The acros lower headset bearings on my Hugene disassembled itself while in the bike after 2 months of light riding (long COVID recovery right after I got the bike).
To their credit Propain sent a replacement but I replaced it with a King headset that has been trouble free for more than a year.
Not being able to swap the acros headset is a deal breaker.
On the other hand, the pivot hardware has been excellent. Still running like new.

There's a simple solution; Just get the alloy version with regular "internal" cable routing.

Carbon, as a frame material for everything that isn't an XC bike, is incredibly overrated anyways.
Carbon does alow things to be done with it that isn't possible with aluminium... But it's not that well taken advantage of in the bike industry.

how about propain routing the cables how they should instead of that stupid headset system so people can choose what to ride?
Raaw sent out an email that said the new jibb is coming on the 11th.
This could be awesome, I wonder if it’ll have the adjustability of their other bikes, and I wonder if the rear travel will change? 140 rear travel although a small change would make it an even more capable all rounder.

you believe 5mm of real travel increase would make a difference?
5mm
like less than 1/8"
Theres no way youre feeling 5mm of rear travel difference, give yer head a shake

Rocky Mountain
heard no EVO version. I bet it will be released late in the year.
Knolly is announcing their next gen 6 frame release on the 11th- I'm betting it will be the new Fugitive.

Absolutely, I love counting, I've been doing it since I was 2!
Wait, I actually run a lot of compression on my 38… are you laughing with me or at me??
Yeah and he crashed at snowshoe
I would have agreed, but Noel has been letting a lot of deets out on the Warden and Delirium... that's my guess.

The pic at the bottom looks familiar...
He crashed because his shoulder or bar end slightly hit a tree. Tires weren’t the issue.

More evidence gold will be the theme for MY25.
Spesh UK either have too many or there is a new model inbound

Both is true. New model later this year. Also massive overstock of current-gen model versions.
