Just spent the morning calling every Forbidden dealer in the US. No one has any frame sets on hand to sell, all special order 2+ months out. Couple complete bikes here and there but the value is laughably bad on the complete bikes. Most dealers also want payment in full for a 2+ month special order. Terrible launch imo. Every dealer that had allocations had already presold them over a month ago while the bike was still under embargo. So basically unless you knew someone in the industry before launch, you aren't getting a dread v2 until June.

Only because of tons of leaks, the bike was under embargo until today so technically dealers weren't allowed to discuss it and whatnot, so how people somehow got preorder allocations in, is beyond me. But it just goes back to people in the industry or being good friends with a shop owner..

I understand the frustration if you actually are trying to buy one, but I am betting the number of these actually in the wild is pretty low. Forbidden is pretty small...

Hopefully soon. Need a 38 with grip x.

Backwards compatible damper, just slide it into an existing 38, which can be bought new for very reasonable

Out of genuine curiosity, have you ridden the tire? That's not the feedback I've heard from our riders.

Seems like it's less expensive to buy a fork that's currently on sale and a grip x2 damper than it is to buy a 2025 fork that is basically the same.

Sounds like they added moar shimz as the vvc compression upgrade was too soft for heavy/aggressive riders. And the first grip2 iteration was too harsh.

The dreadnought PB tested was 34 lbs I was really surprised to see it was that light. Their frames look stout as hell, made me wonder how much the new Druid weighs and couldn't see anything. Is it pretty much equal to the dreadnought? Seems like they are so similar it would be close.

Druid V2 Ultimate/X0 is 31.9lbs in S2 size.

Dreadnought V2 Ultimate/X0 is 34.6lbs in size S2.

It's basically just tires and fork/shock that account for the difference.

Do they spec it with DD or dh casing tyres? With exo plus it may be 34lb but realistically for most places and its intended use they won’t be suitable.

check through most bikes of similar style and they put exp casing’s on them.

New tyre is the 'High Roller' reborn. Plenty of hotpatches were floating around the southern hemisphere during the summer.

I don't know why brands do this--it just hurts their customers using the internet to search for tire info, reviews or purchasing--and also confuses retailers who aren't 100% in the know (most). This new tire shares basically zero in common with the OG High Roller or the 2 other than 'stout, tall, straight-ish' side knobs. Maybe they're re-using the name so that people don't tease them for releasing yet another tire (name).

Using the same name (especially for a TOTALLY redesigned product) just causes confusion. And like we see so many times with reviews or peoples opinions "Yea that Butcher tire sucks!" (says person on message board who rode the 2014 version of the tire and it's since been re-designed twice.) Start with a clean slate!

You obviously have no idea how hard it is to name a product! 😉

DD DHR2 in the back, EXO+ Assegai up front. I just tried DHR2 and Assegai on my Spur. Liked it so much it's going on the #enduro bike.

My v1 Druid was 32 pounds with pedals, so I can see the new Dread being ~34 with some carbon parts.

Color me surprised, they look thick and definitely not lacking carbon. If I guessed I’d say 35 for the Druid and 37 for the dreadnought. I try not to be a weight weenie but seeing trail bikes weigh 35 lbs makes me squirm lol.

My V2 Druid in S4 weighed in at 33 lbs with pedals and cushcore in the rear. I absolutely love it!

am i the only one thinking it's ridiculous to have the base model at that price with SELECT suspension?

No you’re not. Robot overlord transmission with RS Select fork and shock smells like the DeoreXT-derailleur-with-StxRC-shifter that I was warned against in 1996. For the same money, give me cable shifting and a nicer damper.

Bike weight claims should be backed up with a picture. V1 Druid with ext coil and dd tires in medium was almost 36 lbs with pedals and a tube/tool attached

As much as I'm excited to see new Fox stuff, imagine all these manufacturers sitting on a pile of already heavily discounted bikes and now newly also with "old" forks. Rough times.

My druid v2 s3 mx weighs in at 35.5lb currently w/out the water bottle. 36.5 with water. 38 adds a bit of weight. And I'm putting WAO convergence wheels on and an EXT storia V3 so will be curious to see how the weight changes

Meh.  It’s good for the market.  Brands can sell small numbers of new bikes with new dampers and transmission at obscene prices for those who want it and there is really great and feasible options for the rest of us.

Luca's Canyon DH prototype from this past weekend. Can get a little better look at the linkage. Said post race it took some getting used to, but now feels good.

I hope fox didn't go the route rock shox did with the charger 3 that became harsh and many people prefer the old damper. For me (fairly light and not into steep stuff/that aggressive) the last grip2 model was pretty good. Although on hot days and steeper tracks I had to fully close both compression circuits. I tried running it with more air but that made it harsh. So for heavier and more aggressive riders its clear that fox wanted to add those shims. But it seems by enlarging the base valve diameter and other stuff they tried to not make it too stiff.

I'ts a bit of a cheat, but this might get you a few goosebumps then:

It's a one-off edition (a Dorado SC got made as well) made by Rulezman for an AstonMTB competition -,not a Zocchi but an Intend Edge with a Manitou RRT preparation... quite a frankenfork (and no need to say I absolutely LOVE IT). A DC versions based on Dorados were also on the works:
