There are fewer and fewer really high pivot bikes being made, they are moving more towards mid to low height high pivot layouts, people have negative comments about high pivot bikes (balance changes going through the travel, noise and drag from the system, issues with the chain stretch on the lower chain length), pro riders in some cases moving away from HP bikes to standard bikes, etc.
I kinda get the allure for race bikes, so DH and enduro, but even there there are companies sticking to the tried and tested layout. It seems a VERY weird move to make your bread and butter bikes high pivot. It seems too polarizing.

Neko had a good discussion about it in his earlier vids.... he obviously chose no HP.

Thats fair,
I think the Optic as a (lets call it a mid HP, idler bike) has been in the works for a while now, provides a very different experience to the new Fluid, which is essentially an alu version of the current Optic. I like this idea (recognizing its not for everyone) a hard charging, stable feeling, short travel bike that can be pushed.
I think theres enough variety in Norcos range of bikes to pull it off
Maybe the Sight stays as is, with some slight geo changes.

Right,
Not sure that means its the right or wrong choice for everyone.
Not really sure that what suits Neko in a race bike, has any bearing at all to others wants in a trail bike.
Rhys Verner seems fairly comfortable on his Druid, to race it competitively. He might have gone faster on something else, but has at the very least proven hes fast n the new Druid.
towards the end of the video, the mondrakers of cink and McConnell, and terpstras ghost have axs reverbs, but are allegedly controlled with an axs blip switch. Terpstra says this explicitly and she runs it on the right, the mondraker you see it on the left hand side.
Officially i believe this doesn’t work, so either there’s a new blip button; or they are using the blip for one shift, and one of the right hand control buttons for the dropper.
Moving the sight to HP is silly IMO. theres a couple of things to tidy up the sight like higher stack, more progressive curve & Threaded BB on the carbons. - I havnt seen any failures so maybe a diet for them aswell?
i personally would also like a mulletable one. Id buy a new sight with the above changes, even just the stack and curve update.

They are using the blip box with original blip buttons. The new wireless blips don’t work on the reverb.
I would expect way cheaper than push, more in line with ext and fast. If they managed to get the price down to bos/novyparts or formula level, it would sell like hot cakes no doubt, that might a bit too much to ask though.

Out of curiosity, why do you think it'll be way cheaper than Push?

I'd assume Push pricing is much higher relative to EXT in Slovakia than in the US. Here they are roughly the same price (for shocks at least; we'll have to wait and see on the Push fork).

Lok v3 is $999 and the Push is $1599 - I wouldn't call that the same

I forgot the new Push got a hefty price jump, I think the old one was around $1300 or so, which was certainly closer (now that I'm thinking about it, it seems like the Storia is actually somewhat of a bargain now but that's a discussion for elsewhere).
This is wild, Milan Vader replaced the shock and link w/ a rigid strut for XCC today and will (presumably) switch it out for a shock/link set-up for XCO.
Bets on whether the UCI shuts this down or lets it stay?

Yup, my bad, its the Shore.
Doesnt it say William, Shore, Rampage at the top of the computer screen, and didnt he ride a Shore at Rampage?
Is it just me or is a high pivot Sight, let alone an Optic, the exact opposite of where the industry is going lately?
I mean, the new Druid seems very similar to what I would expect from the new Optic, and maybe a slightly increased travel Sight.
Maybe the Sight stays as a traditional horst link, low/med pivot 150mm bike.
Not sure what you mean by "the exact opposite of where the industry is going lately"

Nope. That's a Norco Shore.

From Vorsprung's Insta.... bet it won't be cheap.

Appreciate the pic, rather than a link (for those of us without insta)

Trek Slash is going to be a high pivot this year.

So will the Norco Optic and/or Sight (likely more of a 'mid-pivot').
Rumors says it's made of Chinesium.
Same design criteria as the rest of the frame.
Check out that 10 year old groupset!
I'm about 99.9% sure that the new Optic will not be high-pivot. Either that, or Norco is working on a carbon version of the Fluid FS.
Why would the UCI ban it?
By that logic they'd have to ban shocks with full lock out?
Do the bikes have to be identical between xcc and xco or can components be changed?
Let me help you rephrase that: "Check out that groupset that has been the benchmark in its category for the last 10 years".
You’re not wrong! It’s just funny how that looks like a spy photo from 2014. They could at least change the font…?
But why? I love that it just remains the same. There's really enough new stuff being released for the sake of newness
