Schwalbe made waves across the internet when they first showed hints of their new dual chamber tire and wheel system. By using an inner high-pressure chamber that simultaneously locks on the tire and provides pinch flat protection, they are able to used a sealed outer low-pressure chamber to improve traction without fear of burping your tire.
They made things official today by letting us look inside. The inner chamber is a tube encased by a tire-like membrane that locks the bead in place when inflated to 55-85psi. The outer chamber (any tubeless ready tire) is filled with sealant an inflated to 10-20psi.
Over the past few months the system has moved from a dual valve stem design to a single, dual function valve stem making it easier to use with any wheel, though it does require a minimum internal rim width of 23mm. When the valve is pulled outward, the orange "Air Guide" directs air through a hole in the blue Procore membrane into the main tire chamber. When the valve is pushed in air goes to the inner chamber. Here's a video illustrating how it works:
The Procore system will be offered as a set initially, with pricing around the $200 range. Special tire levers, rim tape, inner tubes, inner membrane, air guide, and tubeless sealant are included.
