Mondraker are making a statement with their new Crafty - dropping the 29" wheel in favor of the 27.5+ option (which uses a wider and fatter tire to arrive at an external diameter very close to that of a 29er). Mondraker feels the 27.5+ wheel provides all the advantages that beginner or intermediate trail riders are looking for, while the extra traction makes it a better choice than a 29" wheel in this category. That leaves the 29er as an XC-only tool in Mondraker's world.

The new Crafty features 140-mm of travel via Mondraker's Zero system, which has been revised with new collet axles and bearings to improve stiffness. The 1x-only rear end is now 7-mm shorter than on the previous model. A unique aspect of the Crafty is the use of a 157x12 rear axle, which Mondraker says is the best solution for keeping the chain from rubbing on the tire in the shortest gears when running extra-wide tires.

The pivot points have moved slightly upwards and forwards on the new bikes.

There are 2 full suspension models and 2 hardtails to chose from should you wish to go Plus with Mondraker for 2016.
