Responding to the requirement for enduro bikes to tackle burlier terrain, Lapierre have built a completely new Spicy to rise to the challenge. Available in 2 carbon models and 1 aluminum version, the new Spicy pumps out 165-mm of rear travel via its "OST+" rear triangle layout (Horst Link based). The high-end model weighs in at ~ 13kgs (28.6lbs), and the new frame makes room for a piggyback shock AND a water bottle (non-Ei models).

The high end "Team" model features Lapierre's Ei Shock technology as standard, an electronically controlled rear shock that uses g-force and pedal input sensors to read changes in the terrain and figure out when to open or close the compression damping on the rear shock. Ei technology is available on the 2 lower-tier models as an option. The Ei control unit has an updated form factor for 2016, it is notably smaller to allow riders to mount shorter stems should they so desire.

The new Spicy will ship in October 2016, with pricing published in September.
