Given Jess's love of the huck, maybe more of a Gee or Dan protege?

It would be quite cool to see a Minnaar vs Hill goodbye year in DH.

Why would it be a good bye… both have said they want to continue on racing.

Funny how everyone is claiming Minnars retirement after an "off" year of a top 10 with not even racing the last one.

Only because a few people have talked about a ‘farewell tour’ for Minnaar in Steve Peat style

Did someone say he had an off year? I missed that. I think people are talking about a farewell season because of his age and recent injury. I suspect the GOAT will want to go out on a high note, not linger until all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall or desire.

No but talk of a farewell year next year seems pretty common but we really haven't seen a massive downturn in his placement.

Next year will be great though with soo many riders that seem to pushing things I can think of at least 10 to 20 riders that could win a race and not even be surprised.

Either way it'll be a pivotal moment in DH women's racing not matter what way she treks.

Even tough this might be possible, Camille mentioned that she is feeling super well on the new Commencal. With no off-season testing, she got on the V5 a week before Lourdes (Brioude) and won the first WC around. Although Team structure suits her at Dorval. It’s gonna be interesting.

Oh man I'm so excited for next year. Jordan and Jackson coming to elite, and I think one, if not both can get a win. Bernard Kerr nearly winning multiple times this year, can he get a win next year?
Ronan Dunne and Henry Kerr both setting good pace
Gwin back on the box
Finn finally getting a win

I think with both Jordan and Jackson turning up, Kerr's chances of a podium just got downgraded.

Definitely not.. The step into elite can be difficult, remember Finn was that wonder kid and its taken him a good minute to get himself sorted in elite. Conditions (both weather and track) are often different when the juniors race compared to those top 5 guys in elite.. Not discrediting either of their talents at all but there's more that goes into it for sure, however I'd love to see them both step up and smash it!

Potentially there might be a totally new INEOS mountain bike team. PfP could very well spearhead team. PfP is definitely the talk of the town these days.

I don't think that will be his fate.

Commencal could work as the Ineos road team used Pinarello frames, who don't make MTB bikes, and Commencal doesn't make road bikes. It would be a change of pace for Pidcock as he was using a rebadged BMC if I recall, and that had all of the carbon and lockouts which Commencal doesn't really do.

Isn't Max on the record as saying they'll never make a carbon bike?

Yes, that's why I would find an Ineos x Commencal team unlikely.

Saying that, Ineos/Team Sky were known for eschewing team sponsors for the 'best equipment', especially with Lightweight wheels on mountain days and specific parts/clothing for TT days. Even still, I don't imagine Max would be down with Pidcock/PfP riding a non-Commencal, carbon frame even if they did win.

Yep. Justifying it by saying greenwashing things when the real problem was back in the day (2008 I guess), the Commencal Skin (a carbon hardtail of XC) which was either misdesigned (by unexperienced engineers, or under pressure to sell it FAST, I really don't know but those are two common explanations of designs errors, apart them being purely... design errors) (and/)or mismade (very unsure of this word... english is not my native language, sorry for that) by the plants. They cracked. All of them, or not far from that.

Really bad experience for them. So the next time Commençal will invest carbon is when Max will not be the CEO.

It wasn't only the Skin, there were Meta 4 and Meta 5.5 frames made in carbon as well. The V2 gen ones.

Still is.

EDIT: on ENVE in general, not sure about the wheels though.

I think they switched wheel sponsors after Thibault detonated his wheel in Snowshoe last year

But the bars are still Enve. And the logo is on the jersey. Plus the wheels are unmarked. Weird things Smile

I seem to recall they're running CB wheels now?

Regarding a come back in XC for Commencal, it looks likely. But as mention in the article: no carbon for Max
Commencal XC prototype
Her “XC” bike is the new enduro platform short stroked/forked and with custom links. Not a chance commencal is moving into XC
