Yup, Marzocchi is seeded to more of a privateer rider that is supported, but not as supported by the big brands as if they rode FOX/RS stuff.

FOX/RS stuff is just the go-to because of the package deal, RS comes with Sram while Fox is usually backed up with Shimano components. You could do Shimano & Ohlins, Shimano & Manitou, but with Manitou there's already a conflict with brakes. The teams that ride something other than Sram/FOX/Shimano for their suspension and/or brakes usually buy drivetrain components (Specialized running Sram drivetrain).

Unno doesn't have a program, I think they ended it after 2018.

And from what I've seen, Atwill isn't opposed to a good party. People do change with time, but yeah, don't reeeeeeeeeally see him fit in the SCS.

Fox surely wants to promote both brands, but not as competing brands. Seems thier approach is to promote Fox for racing and Marzocchi for freeride.

I’m a huge fan of the marzocchi stuff both in concept and performance, but I don’t think anyone is trying to use or even appear to be using budget equipment at the World Cup level. Besides if someone goes and wins on marzocchi doesn’t that take away from fox’s marketing as the premium product you want to spend the extra cash on

Probably not, but it would be kind of a nice team to root for.
No way is he moving to Syndicate.
The Santa Cruz Privateers.... I'm into it

Syndicate still parties hard. They just do it after race day these days.

Jordan Sarrou is moving on from BMC/Absolute Absalon. He's reigning world champ so its a bit surprising but that frees up cash for Pauline Ferrand-Prevot since people were asking how that team could afford her.

Marzo is being pushed as the *Freeride* brand while Fox is staying the *Racing* brand. This is why you see the likes of Zink, Brandt, Boggs, the McCaul bros, Gully, Turpin etc. All switching to Marzocchi in the last year. Meanwhile all the racing teams have stayed with Fox.

New Commencal bikes kitted with Ohlins, is this a nod to the team’s new suspension sponsor?

🤔 It's noted on the caption that it is an "Ohlins Edition", it might be even special for the USA market as it's posted on CommencalUSA IG. So I don't really think it's a sign for a Factory Team.

Could be, I noticed they started to sell bikes kitted out with ohlins starting from their 21 MY. It would be cool to see more teams thinker with ohlins suspension in the WC circuit

A few thoughts:

1. We ASSUME that a certain rider is going to a certain team, because we figure out certain parts on censored photos that haven't been censored good enough, but why aren't we taking into consideration that there are small sponsor/partner changes from year to year? By this I mean smaller players than SRAM/Shimano, who receive public goodbye letters. So what if Scott, for example, isn't on Enve next year, but Cube is?

2. Is UNNO still running a DH program? Would be cool to see Angel there.

3. When it comes to small things, like grips, I have seen riders opting for products that aren't from the team sponsors, as few people notice that. Burgtec, DMR, ODI and Renthal grips are obviously super popular around the circuit. (Not related to team rumours, but the Bartender grips are my favourite and I have noticed similarities in look to Lizard Skins grips, which Peaty used to have a deal with.)

4. I miss the days when there were more important suspension stakeholders on the circuit than today's ”two party system” of RockShox and Fox. I would love to see Marzocchi out there and obviously Manitou as well and I honestly hope Hayes pushes for that.

Can't wait to see what the new year brings, team- and sponsor-wise!

Yeah Marz handles all the free ride athletes for fox now as well. I think Rheeder is the only one still rocking kashima

Commencal has had the Meta AM in Ohlins edition up since the new AM was unveiled. At least here in Europe...

What? That would be hard. Reducing their Freeride crew from all the big names to basically Bienve and Nell.

Something fishy is going on with YT. Since they dropped Gwin it just hasn’t been the same. They’re dropping people left and right... and rumours are Vali is going too.

I don’t know. Maybe they just realized they don’t need those big names anymore to sell bikes. It seems they’ve placed the brand where they wanted it to be. After all their bikes are constantly sold out anyways. So what’s the point in more promotion when you can’t fulfill more orders.

I hope they’ll put much of that saved money into customer service. At least that’s what Flossmann hinted at in an interviewer earlier this year.

I could see Yt getting rid of the old dogs and support more young guns with the same money 💰 since it's Young Talent and not Legendary Talent

My thought too.. The last few years they have had a huge roster of riders.. That's a lot of money going out.. They might be thinking it's time to scale back a bit..

Hard to believe. The v10 is not exactly your agile freeride bike.
