Trek has a plenty good reputation in that regard. They have Tracy mosely as a uk/legacy ambassador and winton has not been getting great results. Rumor is trek is dropping a ton of cash to sign vali and I can only imagine Rachel’s bonuses are a big reason atherton bikes is possible. They also are paying neff a big paycheck.

Winton should hopefully end up with a contract somewhere. Hopefully she gets back to form where she ends up. But pro sports is extremely competitive and there are a lot of talented girls out there looking for a contract.
Between a lot of talent looking for rides and what will most likely be a 2nd abbreviated season, I think there will be a lot of riders hunting for support, unless they were in the middle of a multi year deal..

For both XC and DH, there hasn't been ANY news at all from Giant. No rider or bike rumors or new sponsorships or even backroom personnel changes.
I read that last bit as "Bathroom personnel changes" and wondered for too long what kind of world cup team had their own bathroom personnel.

That looks a lot like Kamloops BC. Anyone making bikes in that town?

Don't know. Chromag however is Whistler based and they work on a fully.

They also lack a competitive bike. The Glory was a great bike, but hasn't changed much in a while and the closest they got to the top was Marcelo. They don't seem to be all that interested in the competitive game at the moment.

WeAreOne as mentioned has something coming. I think there was a glimpse of it in there Instagram story the other day. Would be pretty cool to see him riding that.

I think it's coming together then...

Kamloops, MikeD and a frame sponsor who is willing to create something unique and wild. I was actually going to suggest Chromag as an option since they are the king of the super slack hardtails and in Whsitler. They would be down to make a super slack & long dual suspension. But I didn't realize WeAreOne are in Kamloops--so that has me leaning towards them. Plus they are killing it in the wheel business right now so may actually have funding to put into sponsoring Yoann.

So I'm going with WeAreOne or Chromag as the frame manufacturer.

In a time when everyone is struggling on their own, why not work together and succeed?

Nah, I think that is just for MX, when he rides moto on the off season he usually wears clothing brands different from hes bike sponsors. I seem to remember him wearing TLD or BELL helmet last off season...

Hey you wanna ask your friends if the dump of cash on new riders is because there is a new bike coming?

If they update the session it won’t be some huge change. My guess is they will be bringing a mullet option to market since loris was riding one last year.

Wasn’t there someone that mentioned the next session would be high pivot idler setup next year? I don’t remember if that was legit or not though

There have been rumblings along these lines in this thread, yeah... From even before it was known Loris is leaving SCS, at least officially.

It was my opinion there was gonna be a new Session in 2020 if the China virus hadn’t destroyed this year, there will be a new bike in 2021.

I suppose a set up like that may benefit the race team but keep in mind the session is also trek’s free ride bike for the c3 guys. Hard to believe they would mess with such a successful platform but I suppose we will have to wait and see.

How many bikes does downhill sell as opposed to freeride? Selling as in Trek bikes to the general public given marketing reach of each discipline AND for the bikes themselves to end users (as in how many bikes are bought to race or freeride)? That will likely be the driving factor.

That or make two different bikes.

Well perhaps the aluminum model will stay the same and they are only updating the carbon model. I’ve only seen one session 29 in person as opposed to many aluminum or older sessions so maybe a big overhaul is exactly what that model needs.

It's a possible scenario.

Anyway, regarding Yoann... I'll just leave this here - 17:00 as the timestamp URL doesn't work:

My thoughts exactly. Freeriders don't want carbon. They want Ditch the Bike durability. Keep alloy Sessions for free ride and make the ultimate DH race bike for those who wan't to race and win.

Alan Milway's IG post from a couple of days ago says he hasn't got a place on a team next year.
