:: Places tin foil hat on head:: I wonder if some of the brands releasing DH bikes that haven't had them in their catalogs for the last few years have some insider info on the whole Discovery/UCI Mountain bike World Series. Perhaps brands have received credible information that Discovery and/or the UCI are going to make a really big push over the next few years to increase coverage and reach of live mountain bike racing, so the brands are setting themselves up to have products developed for the hopeful increase in exposure and sales.
I hate to always compare Mountain bike racing to F1, because it's not apples to apples. But I can see some similarities in the way that Drive to Survive has caused brands like Ford and Cadillac to throw hundreds of millions of dollars at F1 sponsorships whereas 5 years ago they had 0 interest.
::Removes tin foil hat:: Or it's just a coincidence
Developing a bike takes some time, I'd be surprised if the yeti hadn't been in the works prior to disco take over. No idea about Revel or others. Might also be that for a while a lot of brands put a lot of racing budget into ews, but with coverage of it declining over the last few years and dh wc seemingly getting lots more attention it's natural to see some shift to dh.
First post and it's about an Abus rumor? Are you working for them?

Nope. I know it's hard to prove or disprove but I'm just a long time thread follower who was pleased to have finally discovered a rumor and innovation hint 🤠

🔓 ABUS Rumor
There seems to be a new ABUS Fullface Model comming.
1. Hint: Christian Textor is showing in his latest insta post the backside of a (probably) fullface helmet in his new YT design. The helmet is out of focus but there is a familiar abus logo on the back and on the front lid.
2. Hint: It's not a ABUS Airdrop helmet because Texi confirmed it 😜 and the current Airdrop model has this 👇🏻 vent hole. The new model seems not to have this vent hole anymore.
3. Hint: Austrian mountain biker Gabriel Wibmer is already sponsored by ABUS and he already seems to wear the same or another ABUS helmet (+ ABUS goggles) for quite a while now:
@sspomer is it possible to ban this kind of thing on the grounds of extreme lameness?

It is me or the bikes shown last year had a straight top tube which is not happening?

Not sure it will be a boom, but for sure the emergence of so many new bike parks (in europe at least), is making me consider buying a DH bike again after having gone full enduro for 10 years.
Another factor I would say, is if you have an enduro level e-bike, it will effectively replace everybike from trail to super-enduro, so the main bikes worth having in the quiver on top would be a DJ, XC or a DH.
Interesting point on the ebike covering enduro and trail-bike thing. I can relate somehow. But wouldn't consider a DH bike, because I can shuttle (no bikepark need) and have the 150-170mm travel bracket covered with one bike with assistance, and consequently went for a more capable rig. Minimal assist though.
I'm only hesitant to take the 7k+ bike for park shredding and inevitable crashing. And somehow I'm still convinced I need a small travel trail bike, but I tend to admit its more for social reasons than for actual need. It's annoying to receive the "eBiker" labeling.

My best guess would be a bike suitable for modern EDR race tracks. At least that's probably what their athletes would want them to make. The Ripmo always seemed to bit undergunned for proper enduro racing in regards to suspension and geometry.
Judging by that, it's probably a long-travel 29er (- mullet seems unlikely as all the fastest enduro boys have swapped back to 29ers and Ibis never cared much for mullet anyways). I guess at least 160mm of travel, 500mm of Reach on a size L and a 63° HTA.

It will be a mullet. A few weeks ago someone snapped a photo of Zakarias' Johansen's bike and it clearly had a Maxxis 27.5 rear tire.

Least amount of bag I have seen on the new Demo in Keer's most recent video. Looks to be some kinda lower link like a v10 with a concentric bb chainstay?

They probably think that Texi fits as an ambassador for them as he´s Christian as well (albeit it seems like he´s not as medieval as the Abus owners are)

What was shown in the video or can you link it again? It only says "this video is private"
@sspomer is it possible to ban this kind of thing on the grounds of extreme lameness?
can you post the rest or link to the album?
Yup, they stopped their purple Fugitive this year.
If lameness was grounds, then nearly all of us would already be banned!
that zerode gives me timing belt vibes:
i like it

We are lame but at least we’re honest about it. This kind of thinly veiled marketing makes my stomach turn.
Their instagram has the "Stomper Ace FS" on it today, which appears to be a legit kid's full-suspension bike with a dropper.

It was published with launch time, but it seems he didn't actually want the news to be leaked, so it was set to private eventually.
You're prolly right, cause they work so well at protecting your grey matter....

New Trickstuff brake levers that they forgot to blur on last instagram post…
also abus is a piece of shit misogynistic company with links to evangelical cults which doesn’t allow women in leadership positions
Look like regular Direttissima levers to me?

That pivot is higher than Snoop Dogg!
It's beautiful!
That´s true, not even women of the owner family. (I´ve got the full German article if someone´s interested.)

Yeti proto dirt jumper
Can we have a religion topic somewhere else thanks
I hope it's ok to ask here, anyone knows if the Saint line is about to get overhauled ?
I've seen pictures about a supposedly new derailleur in this thread.
I ask cuz' I need some new brakes and some Saints are at 140€ on some websites which seems to be an interesting price for Saints.
Inspiration for the new demo with pull shock
Bring back the pull shock!
Wow, that dog shit logo isn't just a one off. How can you possibly make two letter look so toss?
It actually looks decent on BMX bikes, but the he size and proportions don’t work as well on a MTB.
Someone got the new AXS:
