(edit - it might actually make sense for Specialized to keep it this way for release. looks like a much more polished way to seal off whatever's under there than the fabric)
Guess the cover isn't gone; it's just evolved

Back to the carbon covers like he had on the last bike. Almost makes it more intriguing because we can see more, but still understand nothing about what is going on.

Yep, looks like the carbon cover and electronic lockout have made their way over to this bike. Jack is a mad genius.
What was the green light on the LHS side of Loic's handlebar?
Obvious choice would be some sort of mode light for whatever is attached to his suspension.... It's also been speculated that it's some sort of split time light to show if he is on time.

If it's not sealed sealed, the dirt will build up under it. Which is worse than having it all open.
@sspomer nice one with the filename, thought it was Jesse at first :D

My guess is we're either gonna get a well-timed, potato quality shot from the pits or we're getting nothing until the official release (it's been years with the carbon shock cover and we still haven't gotten a single peek to my knowledge)
Imagine specialized is trolling us all since the beginning and will come out with this demo with an enclosed shock/link (à la enclosed honda drivetrain)
Green light on Bruni's bars is the suspension mode system. Green more open damping, no light is more closed or firm damping. It was used on the older Demo in latter part of last year (including Worlds win).
The light is on a stack that has the mode button on it. Plenty of photos of it if you google search. I saw it in person when he came here to the US for Snowshoe.

totally looks like, hahaha, is somebody checking is they are using rear derailleur??
isn't his deal with yeti on their ebike Enduro team? That's not to say he wouldn't have access to their other bikes, but I'm not sure he be would be the one to race the new dh bike first.
Nightmares are dreams too, they're covering all bases!
It is not a hole. You can see it at the first Loic's insta photo.
tried to grab demo picz from crankworx webcast
Bike looked like it was working so good. Loic was just standing still with the bike floating under him!

I came to post the first pic but you beat me to it haha, good grab! :D \m/
He's running motion instruments all over his bike so I think it's just apart of the data acquisition system

As a wise man once said, loam shelf cool, but loam shelf on linkage very bad

I wonder what’s this?
my guess it tells Loic if hes green or red on each of the splits
Two-year old news. It's an electronic lockout for the rear shock.

That button is for ordering champagne 🍾 🥂 🏁
The green light… I’d like to think it’s for split times but right out of the gate it was already green…
Neko is also very curious as to what is going on.

Seeing as old is new again these days, there is room for a 2nd smaller shock in that lump under the DT.
Or maybe they are doing the same as the scrapped C'Dale DH bike and decoupling the spring and the damper?
..new pedal in the works from Title MTB on Brett Rheeders Commencal?
Why wasn't Mick Hanna on the new Yeti?

I wonder if this custom linkage on the factory GT Force will ever make it to production. They've been using it for almost a year now, I think.

Pretty sure Jack takes care of any dirt that might have the effrontery to migrate on to Loic's bike..
