I can't ride the things he does & can't pay attention to him or Metallier's accents the same as I can't pay attention to Cedric for the same reason. So I NEVER watch their edits.
I'm confused, maybe I'm misreading this, but are you complaining that a mountain biker is getting paid?

Remy makes great content, his videos are meticulous, and clearly he works hard at it.
I feel like this is a place where we support riders.
Nope. Just providing a possible insight into how much companies value YouTube/Social media riders in today’s landscape. I’m all for riders making money in any way possible.

Cool. It's sometimes hard to catch the tone of a post..
The fact that he is getting paid that much to ride a brand of helmets that has bikes, but is NOT riding their bikes, rather riding competitors bikes, is the interesting part. Not if he's getting paid or not.
Brendan F. was on some podcast recently explaining how he was one of the better paid racers specifically because he used the freerider sponsorship model. Rather than getting a single pay cheque from a team (+maybe a helmet/apparel cheque), he worked with loads of brands to get a small cheque from each component and reckons he was way better off.
Beyond the numbers on his youtube channel, Remy is particularly good at mentioning his sponsors etc, so not too surprised he would be one of the better paid influencers.
Might be subjective, but the fact that Remy is literally hitting the most technical gaps week in week out on an openface helmet kinda makes him a good ambassador.

Let me try to reel things back in: Honda to return in 2024 with a new carbon, gearbox, high pivot bike, and full factory support to one rider: #joshyfrothah.
There. That's better.
A full Honda factory team again would be cool. Showa suspension and Akebono brakes.
Being that they've been there done that for DH....an E-EDR team would be something for them.
I could see them selling the concept of development of an ebike drive unit to go racing with to top management. An e-cvt gearbox ebike.

I will watch Yoann or Remi run a section of trail but that's it. I don't need any technical analysis of how to drop in. Remi name drops sponsors constantly & I see the same segment of terraced drops over & over. Yoann is hyped & I've never been stoked to be pumped so can't relate.
I don't have a problem with their personalities or their trails or skills. Just not interesting. I can listen to Bruni or Barel way more, so it's not just a Frenchie thing.
I'll watch every Bas Van Steen (Hyper has zero bikes for sale) Burgensonston, Brage or Vinny T edit ever though. Zero salesmanship, zero hype machine. And I get either pure fluid power or raw anger & adrenaline.
Would guess that Yoann has a bigger marketing value to brands than most WCDH racers outside of the top 10 and dudes like Kade, Brendan etc. Remy is an absolute master at the marketing/business side of the game and a professional at delivering quality content week in week out. The reach of those dudes between YouTube videos and IG reels/posts is crazy. For the record I love what they produce and the times I've run into them in the sea to sky they have both been the nicest dudes super stoked on riding.
On the team rumours front, would think team managers have been chatting up Asa at Snowshoe? Wonder who he will ride for as a junior? Would be cool to see him on Frameworks but would think the big hitter teams must be keen to try to grab him?
Asa signed a Frameworks contract months ago… before his Enduro nats, BME wins and US Open silver, and has already been doing tons of testing with upcoming Fox and Maxxis stuff.
Honestly for an American kid, Frameworks is the dream setup... Stay in Brevard with Neko when you aren’t riding moto in the desert all day with your dad, team accomdation in Morzine, spanish team HQ out of Martin Whitely’s house, with Martin handling much of the euro logistics…
I couldn't agree more Mickey. If he wants it, Asa will come out of his Frameworks contract a polished professional with tons of prototyping experience, probably more than most seasoned Elites, and some serious business chops from Martin. He will be quite a package for the big teams to fight over.
gwin was pretty friendly to a handful of brands in the broadcast, wasn't he?
He didn't name drop a lot of his current sponsors. And I thought he was respectful to a few companies who treated him respectfully in the past The Maxxis comment during GMs run & Specialized comment in Bruni's I heard. More brand than that?

Next year's Junior World Cup is gonna be nuts. The complete live coverage justifies companies committing to putting youth racers on their brands.
I assume we'll see a bigger blitz of juniors in 2024. Groms on contract coming out the woodwork?

He gave props to GT's new Fury for carrying speed on flatter/faster parts of the track in addition to the Specialized/Maxxis chatter. Don't think there's anything at play, he's just a solid dude on commentary and to me doesn't put any bias into it even when his teammates are on track.
Kade’s mechanic has mentioned in Adam Brayton’s semi vlog that he won’t be around next year, is this suggesting Kade will pull back from racing world cups?
gwin was pretty friendly to a handful of brands in the broadcast, wasn't he?
Speaking of, does anyone remember last year or the year before, Aaron had those vlogs detailing the Vee tire development process and how well it was going for them? Those videos just kind of stopped. Did they ever release the tire that the team was working on?

Pretty sure I remember kade mentioning something similar during a track walk earlier in the year, think he said he loves racing but doesn’t like being tossed around with all the new stuff and isnt enjoying it as much.

Yeah definitely, Aus and Nz have a solid lot of very very quick juinors coming in
A couple of weeks ago there was a rumor reading something like: "a former young talent and now established racer back to the roots" - a lot where linking it to Loris Vergier. Now after Valis interviews it might just be Vali going back to YT

Could also be Gwin, he was saying nice things about Oisin's bike during his run... (could be != likely).

Yes, that’s an annual salary, but that makes you wonder how much the sponsors that have visible logos in his videos are paying…

Devinci going from racing to social media.... way cheaper and more views. Smart move short term I reckon.
guess we knew already but stumbled upon this idk if its been posted
superdeluxe on there instead of a storia right?

His GG used a 230x65 shock, the Chainsaw comes with a SD and is Trunnion. He was probably just running the SD until he gets a new EXT.

That’s about as “factory” as it gets!

oooooh, Rockshox Trek team.... Vali moving on?
or maybe the team is no more?
Full trek factory maybe? Although sounded more than that as she alluded to a lot of big changes!
gwin was pretty friendly to a handful of brands in the broadcast, wasn't he?
She's moving to another brand.
