Okay, one of you with the know how needs to enhance that white board to be legible.

The Pivot lugs, the head tube looks like it might welded but the rest look all cnc.

Whiteboard looks like...
"Primer Mule"
"HP6" with a bunch of things below it with check marks
"Tazer Recon?"
"Tazer Alloy"
"Tazer SL?" maybe SL not sure on that.
On line looks like it might say "DJ Project"
Then some other numbers that aren't really legible

I did see the cross compatibility thing on the vital post and it stated it was compatible in the way i described it - it specifically mentioned needing to use the T type chain to make it work though, i found it to be a bit of an odd scenario that the flat top chain would work with the old derailleur - hence the question, it appears though that someone else just said the chain ring is compatible with eagle chains, which i had previously read was not compatible

Vital says in the Transmission video presentation the flattop t-type is backwards compatible. The other source was saying you will not get the claimed lifespan of components and the chain was kind of flapping on the old-gen chainring, which should be somehow occurring on the Eagle cassette too IMO.

The Camo from Wolftooth seems to be the best solution or you can jerry-rig a custom chainring bash guard if you have a friend with Solidworks and a 3D printer.

from the transmission PDF - "This chainring uses our T-Type design and is backwards compatible with Eagle technology (X-SYNC II)."

BUT, this is only described on an e-bike chainring page. it is not mentioned on other product pages in the PDF.

I know what it actually says but it looks like the primer needed a meat treat.

I thought the new chain was "wider" internally, new chain fits on old rings, old chain won't fit on new rings? Something about the cassette having more room to spread out because of the known transmission position?

The other site says the crank and chainrings are the only parts that are backward compatible. The cassette is spaced wider with the chain to match.

T-type technology being backwards compatible with _X-Sync 2_ does make it seem like you can use the old chainring on the new drivetrains, not the other way around (new chainring on older chains). X-Sync 2, as I'm aware, is specifically the front chainring tooth shape giving A LOT longer chainring life compared to X-Sync (1).

Side note - I think we can definitively say the new intense gravy boat is just cnc’d in two halves and welded together. I’d be interested to hear some opinions on how that thing will behave? I’m assuming it can only be welded around its perimeter?

If you have access to a CNC (in-house or a closely integrated supplier) and you have the knowledge to do CNC'd parts while you don't have a metal 3D printing machine and little to no knowledge on the design of 3D printed metal parts... They compare favourably.

Even more so when it comes to proto stuff where you don't want to deal with new technologies (you remake an old frame for that) but you're dealing with a new product. You don't want to test manufacturing processes, you want to test out the new geometry.

It's strange, I've seen some with routing through the frame and some with headset routing, I wonder if they're going to offer both?

Seems for the Tempo (sorry, T.E.M.P.O.) they had "standard" routing on prototypes, and then switched to headset routing for production.

Really shows that they don't HAVE to do it, but they're *definitely* being paid to do it.

Sorry, but who is paying Commencal to use headset cable routing? Big headset? Local bike shops to charge more for servicing?

Total garbage lol. Its done for looks to the average joe, and its cheaper production.

That's the joke... the headset mafia has Commencal in their grips, and soon they will have taken over the entire industry.  They will soon be paying off small steel frame manufacturers

It’s not even a big problem for future Commencal owners, because majority of bikes will end up in bike shops with cracked frame warrantys before the headset dies. And then the bikeshop will have to deal with headset cable routing and bearing replacement.

Dude the ACROSS headset lasted like 3 rides for me.  Imagine, 3 rides and you have to disconnect, brake, transmission, seatpost

Has anyone seen any Rockshox athletes running flight attendant on their bikes? I haven’t been able to spot any from my casual peruse of the footage from the first 2 EDRs.

I remember Charlie Murray (NZ) was running flight attendant last year after it got released but don’t know for how long that lasted

They won't sell you the 1.8 lower bearing seperately over here. Only the lower cup assembly for £80 (there are ways around this)

Wolftooth does a direct mount bash ring that has a spider for their chainring. CAMO is term. You have to buy bash guard and chainring. Looks quality, but I haven't used it or any wolftooth chainrings so I can't say for sure. Lots cheaper than a whole new drivetrain.

https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/collections/camo/products/camo-bash…

Can attest to Wolftooth making quality chainrings, 2 seasons on one with minimal wear so far. Camo bash looks pretty slick imo, might have to spring for it

OEM parts is $4. This doesn't even come in blingy colors.

Yeh that’s right. I’ve been seeing over the summer (our southern summer) that he hasn’t had it on and obviously not on any other athletes it seems this season. Just curious as it seemed targeted as a racing product but the top racers don’t seem to be running it.
