Yakima had a number of new racks on show this year, with a completely updated rail line along with plenty of new racks, but the one that’s catching everyone’s attention this year is their new Dr. Tray hitch rack. With a number of rad new features and at only 34lbs for the 2” receiver rack, Yakima is claiming the rack is the lightest in its class. Beyond weight, what makes this rack rad is the level of adjustability Yakima has integrated into it. We’ve all run into the problem of one bike’s bars or brake lever getting in the way of the other bike’s saddle when we load two bikes. To eliminate that issue, Yakima has integrated these quick release levers that allow each tray to slide up and down the rack’s main supporting rail.

The rack also features a handle on the outside of the rack and not at the pivot where it’s traditionally placed. This eliminates having to reach through your bikes to drop the rack in order to access the trunk or hatch of your vehicle. Yakima also offers a bolt-on third tray, which is slightly raised above the other two, again to eliminate bike on bike interference.

The new Dr. Tray rack will retail for $579.00 with the option EZ+1 tray priced at $229.
