ICEdot’s new Emergency Trigger allows you to get notify an emergency contact when you’re in trouble with the simple push of a button. Similar to the previous ICEdot system, it pairs with your phone and uses your GPS location to notify a contact of your whereabouts. Currently in the prototype phase, the new trigger should be available in March. Pressing the button once sends a “follow me” text to with a GPS tracking link to your emergency contact. Holding the button down sends an emergency text with your GPS location. The cost of the Trigger has yet to be determined.
If you are looking for an automatic emergency response, ICEdot’s original system sends out a text when you have a concussion-level impact with your helmet. The system is $149 per year. Users can register with ICEdot and upload their medical history so it is available for ambulance medical services.
