KMC has some new chains for 2015. First up is the X Lightweight Series. The X11L highlights the series and is available in gold (titanium nitride) and silver (nickel plated) coatings. It weighs 252g for 116 links. What is special about this chain is that it uses solid outer plates. solid pins, and hollow inner plates. This provides a stronger chain that is still decently lightweight. They are compatible with Shimano, SRAM, and Campy drivetrains.
Next up is the X10EPT Eco Proteq chain. This chain features a Eco Proteq treatment that prevents it from rusting. KMC has salt-spray tested the chain for 650 hours, up from 500 hours in previous years. It is compatible with 8-, 9-, and 10-Speed drivetrains.
