Crazy. And like others said, there are just as many "small" builders. I recently got a custom steel hardtail built by Neuhaus Metal Works. He's doing so well with his frames that he recently had to move to a bigger shop.
I put together a (certainly incomplete) list of MTB manufacturers who make at least one legit MTB model. I am at 103. That is wayyyyyyyy too...

Here's the list. What companies am I missing (some are closing down currently)

You mean to tell me Black Market is still a functioning, operating manufacturer?

They've been done for a long time, like 2013 I think. Fun fact, my profile picture is a Black Market Mob, loved that bike until somebody decided they wanted it more and stole it.

Folks we are up to 125 now. And that's with NO e-bike only brands or hardtail-only brands. These are brands from at least the last decade. I have highlighted in Red the ones that are out of business for sure that I know of.

Litespeed and Lysnkey have both offered full suspension titanium mountain bikes in the recent past (but both seem to only have hard tails at the moment)
eminent cycles bike and frame inventory up for auction.

They had some interesting ideas, but the overall package was always somewhat unappealing (for instance, the inability to use an internally-routed dropper post on their original frames). I seem to recall a friend testing one of the earliest models and being unimpressed by its descending performance, too.

Local guy here was shilling for them... This is an industry rightsizing at it's finest, bikes with this combination of generic and sub par are indicative of the fat that had developed in our industry over the years.

Missing Production Privee, Forestal and Pace Cycles?
Mde bikes
The parameters for my list were they had to make a legit, full suspension, non-e-bike frame.
ARC8, Bulls*, Octane One. Craftworks is dormant at the moment but I hope it's not gone for good.
*Not sure if Bulls uses catalogue frames. I think there are probably a lot more relatively obscure German brands out there too.
Caloi (sponsors Avancini)
Thömus
American Eagle
Kross
Those are mostly XC bikes (and may be catalog frames for all I know) but putting them out there...
You mean to tell me Black Market is still a functioning, operating manufacturer?
Curtis Bikes? They have been in the game for years, make a few full sus frames and have, I think, won a few awards along the way (for building).
Great list though!

Ventana, Lenz.
Man Idk i started this list years ago just thinking of brands off the top of my head lol
This is getting out of control lol
Boardman
Bucefal (only know it from the post the other day)
Keep it rolling, there's bound to be more
Moustache*
Fantic*
Gasgas*
Husqvarna*
Gamux
Origine
*Ebike only

Maybe we can have another list of component manufacturers too. How many people just make a stem, or pedals? It's kind of nuts!
Every time I see a new flat pedal come to market I almost go blind from eye-rolling.
Pretty sure Chewmac is dead or at least on pause. But some bike left in LBS in Quebec
another, https://www.liteville.com/en
Litespeed and Lysnkey have both offered full suspension titanium mountain bikes in the recent past (but both seem to only have hard tails at the moment)
A few more to add
Moots
Bikes (cervelo.com)
Brodie (not really making high end anymore)
Cove (no longer producing bikes)
Van Dessel
I think I will start a new thread just for this
Looks like Haro just re-entered the chat with a hardtail.
Are you sure it's not a rebadged Intense?
Crestline makes a legit DH bike, https://crestlinebikes.com/shop/rs-205-vhp-frame/

How did they last this long.
That's too bad, their Drive MT got really good reviews if I recall right.
