The first picture in that story says goodbye 2024.

Judging it’s not a post and isn’t very detailed i assume 5dev is using a end of year recap to mess with us.

Charlie hatton is still riding the atherton bike, even if he hangs with the mondraker boys. Look at the hayes brake and descendant cockpit 1000036591

I like this quote from the YT Mob press release "Sian and The YT MOB have decided to re-focus and target various races outside of World Cups (Crankworx, Continental Series and US Series)".  I am assuming the mention of US Series is the Pro Downhill Series.  That would be awesome to have Sian at those races.  She is a beast and has always done well at US world cups in Snowshoe.  6th in 2019 when she was just into the elite ranks, and 9th in 2023 after her return from injury (5th in Semis that year too).  She should get along nicely with the Pro Downhill Series style tracks and will help to elevate the US Pro Women's scene in a big way.

On the Pro DH Series topic I hope Frida Ronning runs the full US Pro Downhill Series calendar.  She rips and wouldbe a big contributor to pushing that Pro Womens field .  I guess that depends on her team for next year.  If Anna Newkirk to Frameworks goes through you would think she will be at the Ride Rock Creek Pro Downhill Series round next Spring at a minimum.  Maybe more rounds???

I'm excited for the schedule release of the Pro Downhill Schedule.  Especially the US Open.  With Lenzerheide, Lake Placid and MSA being so close together that only leaves one weekend open.  Then that would be like 4 weekends straight of downhill racing.  Really tough on teams and riders.

Dyfi is closed for maintenance after storm darragh so it's very possible Charlie Hatton is doing off-season training with his friends at mondraker while they fix the park?

I had a little birdie pop by last night and whisper in my blowhole that Asa is signing with Trek Factory Racing shortly and that Benoit may be another one joining the team as well.  Is it time to race yet????  How about now?  Now?

with all the debt trek is supposedly in, do they really have enough free cash to buy him out of his frameworks contract?

Those were my exact thoughts, too.

I agree, but they did just release just about every big rider across xc, enduro, and DH. Replace all of that and pay Asa and Benoit?

Doesn't seem that crazy.

But, with all the big names that just left,  there might be room under that new budget.. Plus, how much is Asa's contract with Frameworks really worth? I don't think that number is really that big..

I'm sure it's sizeable to protect Neko's investment. That's how sports teams in lower leagues earn money, selling talents to bigger, wealthier teams.

its certainly not impossible, but  i have a few thoughts if he were to break contract:

1 - given Asa's results and potential, I'm inclined to think he'd want his next contract to be longer term, rather than the typical 2-3 year contracts.

2 - trek would have to dangle a fair amount of money at him to get him to break contract.

3 - given the changes being made to team rules, he may have had concerns about whether or not the frameworks team would be able to enter every world cup of the season.

4 - without Asa's points, would frameworks racing even be in the running for a wildcard spot?

With Angel, Anna (presumed), and Neko, Frameworks would be ranked ~17th without Asa. With him they are ~12th.

I think Trek could offer a good bit more that Neko.. And, if I was Trek trying to make a move like this, I would be offering something a bit long term to try and hold onto him.. Asa and Lachie could be a pretty good combination in the not so distant future..

Did SC not give Jackson a crazy long contract? Like 10 years or something?

under normal circumstances absolutely, but to me the wild card in this situation is whether or not trek is in the amount of debt they are rumored to be.

I think it was 6 years starting with the 2024 season. He mentioned it on a podcast after his knee injury.

Scott DH factory startet to follow Yanick Silvester Braun aka Benoit Coulanges mechanic. So i think with that and what I heard from other private sources you can say pretty comfortably that Scott and BC will join forces next year.

I would be shocked if Benny Cool isn't at Scott, French rider, French team.  Goes together like Lamb and tunafish.

Trek must be kicking themselves for letting him go after all the years they supported him as a kid. Wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to make amends by signing Asa on long term.

Snails and Pernod?

Anyway, there's an Atherton vid talking harder about family than Dom Toretto, except it's about Kolb and Charlie, which can only mean one of two things: either they're staying, or they're leaving.

So yeah, 6 year contract starting with the 2024 season.

I can't tell if you're agreeing or not. Wink
