I know there's going to be a Bosch update to let you adjust how much run-on each mode has. That Alex Bike Tester guy was showing a beta version of it, and I thought he said that was coming in July. Not sure what all is going to be in this June announcement, sounds bigger than just a little update.

Interesting. I'd imagine it's possible to do that. In my current area i do a fair bit of commuting to the trails. That'd be pretty nice. I'd be more inclined to use it for the work commute as well

I had heard a rumor that they were going to add some sort of slider bar to the app for the end user to adjust the motor cutoff speed, or class, presumably to compete with Spz and Avinox bikes that can be switched to Class 3 by the user. The guy said his local dealer had seen the beta verson or something like that at a dealer event. Maybe, but the can has been opened and there is no putting the bikes back in a can. Whether anyone likes it or not mtb's, emtb's znd even emotos are still going to be sold so evdntually their just place is going to be figured out based on data. Eventually we'll get there

I’m so glad I’ve never had to ride in a trail area that doesn’t have dedicated one way mtb trails. It seems like it just causes so many problems.

Speed cut offs are fairly appropriate. How fast you get to that relatively slow cut offs is mostly irelevant. Conflict happens mostly on lower angle trails where both directional users can get to the upper reaches of that cut off, wether assisted or not. Thats why emotos don't mix well on those mtb/emtb bidirectional trails. 50-60mph is way too fast...

To be fair , even without emtb's those groups will find something to restrict regular mtb's from "their" trails. It's a numbers game. Emtb's create more cyclists = more say at the table. With 1500w youre lucky to "rinse' it for 30minutes. With your moto or sports car you "rinse" it for hrs then fill up and continue. I think most people will be using lower power modes to get a little longer ride

I’m sure this access thing is going to be different in whatever area we are talking about. Different land managers, and perspectives. Here in Southern Oregon there are E bikes everywhere. Hikers and other groups have complained about them, but the forest service and the city of Ashland don’t have the manpower or the resources to enforce any of it. Basically like trying to stop a tsunami. The amount of rogue trails that have sprung up has went nuclear. I'd prefer it if we give it time to gain the proof that it will cause conflicts. That extra evidence would help get regulation amount correct

For me its not a huge issue. It'd be fun climbing otherwise impossible climbs but with that much power i don't think youre going very far even on a 800w battery.
