4k for a frame without shock does not seem unreasonable to me. But I was wondering if the image shows the actual production 2025 phoenix. Or has that been posted already in this thread and is past rumor stage?
Surely the production model will be a carbon monocoque? Either way I can say for certain that it won't have a 190×40 mm shock!I think that...

I think that guy's just playing funny buggers.
The shock length is a standard entry in this forum if you don´t change it. Could be possible but we just saw a full carbon rear triangle on Kerrs Bike so I guess we will see a different frame in production some day.
So the rumour mill this week is swirling about the current Range being a single model year generation (spec/colour has been carried forward since release).

AM/ Enduro bikes (as in non-electric) will not really be a thing in 3-5 years.
I'm certain I'll get downvoted for this, heck I would have downvoted this 2 years ago, but in a world where a mid-power e-bike and a full Enduro bike has their weights converge, the bike just becomes redundant.
I pedaled my Enduro bikes for a lot of years but at this point it just seems silly to exert so much energy and ride time into the climbing portions of the ride.
Even if power density of batteries doubles (unlikely in 3-5 years) that still puts a 500w pack at 3.5-4lb. The tq50 is over 4lb and is...

I agree it's hard to erase the entire 8#s of the electronics.
Generally electric motors are very old technology and have very little room for improvement. Maybe a mag case could shave off 1/2#.
Fazua's new 475 watt battery (direct replacement for my Relay battery) weighs 4.8#s. I'd expect that to be cut in half when the solid state batteries are commonplace in 5 years.
What I can tell you is that my 44# Relay (1300 gram tires, dual coil suspension, XL) handles pretty similar to a 36# Enduro bike. It's not exactly the same, but it's close enough descending and it does climb better with the motor.

Many, if not most, motor housings are already magnesium.
That being said, the power to weight ratio being touted by the new DJI and ZF seem to be a generational improvement over the current industry standard. I guess we will have to wait for them to actually show up in the wild to be sure.
As far as the price difference between e & non e, seriously I don't care.
Although I have 'means' now, when I was young poor and all on my own since HS, I still spent all of my money on the nice toys (sport bikes mostly back then).
Find something you love and do it till it kills you, I always say.

Gonna run my Maxxis tires bald until there is a tire out that has the same softness as room temp cream cheese.
Convince Adidas to license the OG 5.10 Stealth rubber to Maxxis; there's a rock-climbing technique called "smearing" that it was particularly good at (as long as the rock wasn't too hot).
I was just looking at We Are One's website and is it just me or is the arrival no longer on there? I see wheels and some arrival parts but no bike frames or rolling chassis anymore
I noticed if you google we are one arrival you can find the bikes page but everything is sold out. Any idea whats going on over there? Hopefully a revised model and not shutting down bike production or something like that

I recall from a recent podcast with the head guy (I can’t remember his name) they were doubling down on focusing on wheels since that was their money maker. So maybe they are sold out and aren’t in a hurry to make more frames

They pretty much nailed everything except superboost. They'll never admit it, but in hindsight I'm guessing they chose superboost to incentivize customers to buy a new set of wheels with the frame ("rolling chassis" option). Thanks but no thanks.
I do have a non stupid boost set of WAO Convergence wheels and its the best carbon wheelset i've ever owned. Completely bullet proof and excellent ride quality.

Ive considered the wheels but the warranty of santa cruz is pushing me towards some reserves. The frame i probably would have bought except for only being able to fit a 150mm seat post. That sounds pretty reasonable if they are focusing on wheels and putting the bikes on the back burner for a while.
Pademelon steering dampers are officially for sale. These are the dampers all of the Aussies and many other pro's have been running this season. https://pademelon.cc/Not...

Not cheap (understatement) however. 800 $AUD for just the damper
Would love to see some reviews from the usual sites. All the pros wouldn’t run it if it didn’t do anything, but is it beneficial to the bumblers as well?

I’ve been waiting for their updated bars they showed at sea otter. Hope they’re still going to release them.

As a resident bumbler I'm willing to guinea pig it for you. Will let you know once I have it and have tried it out but, sadly, my guess is that like 90%+ of all other stuff I buy, it will not change my riding experience in a meaningful way.

It's not even the dw5 bike. I think it's a test mule for the standard Phoenix, probably from a factory visit article.
And duh it's not going to have a 190x40 shock, that's an Xc shock at best.
Well spotted. Funnily enough I noticed that the flight attendant version of the Vivid Coil is available in almost every metric size, yes even down to 37.5 mm stroke. I now have a weird urge to put one on a 100 mm race bike. SID-compatible Smashpot when?

Ah and note that these one is no HP one. The hole rear triangle is different -> https://flowmountainbike.com/features/pivots-prototype-downhill-bike-chris-cocalis/

My understanding is that there won't really be a Range for 2025 and a likely early MY2026 will see a new platform.
From the latest Downtime Podcast, Texi said he’s testing a new “softer than anything out there” compound from Schwalbe

and i'd say they can keep it as a race only, on the last MoiMoiTV video they're talking about how many tyres he's peeling through in days.
the current ultrasoft is amazing in terms of grip and how long it last, not sure something softer that wears immediately is better for the public...

I'd say it should be very good at preventing jack knifing.

All the pros ...
You remember the anti vibration stickers...
And holographic bracelets to improve your chakra...
Who is jack going to knife?
And those necklaces and tiny weights to "balance" the valve stem...
