It looks long, slack(-ish), low(-ish), it's a mullet, it's effin' purple, has a 38, has a coil, it's carbon and it is a damn effin' SC!, if it is 625+ Wh battery and around 20kgs, I'll be running out of excuses.
F it...2021 might be the year when I'll get an electric and say, at least partially, good bye to mtb-ing. #saddaysahead
No word of a lie, my ebike is getting 30:1 use over my enduro bike.

Whats the average length of your ride time/km wise over your enduro, just out of interest?
Typically 2-3 hours. But it's more the rides I would never even consider on an enduro bike. Before going electric, 15km and 600-800m climbing would be a good day out. Now it's 30+km. Actually battery range is my biggest limiting factor. (500 watt hours)
I've done a few 50+km adventures to spots you would never consider taking a bike, real off the beaten path trails to amazing lookouts and scenery.
I will be first to admit, my fitness level isn't exactly top notch. But the eeb allows me to go on rides with my buddies who race EWS/Elite level, stay with them up the climbs then we all have a laugh as I make my way downhill.
When I do hop back on the enduro bike, my downhill speed and intensity is noticeably better. I just ride a lot more now because there is no excuses not to! It's been a total game-changer for me personally.

I'm almost 54, still ride about 5 days a week but feel the loss in strength and motivation to ride more laps, some of it is internal and some external. I'm definitely considering an e-bike as long as I can ride the same trails i ride on my enduro bike. I feel like the industry is trending in the right way, looking forward to the next gen of ebikes.
That SC... I like fox more than rocksbox I think. But fox decals have gotten consistently less good looking in the last 5-8 years. And rockshox keep looking better and better.
My unsolicited opinion.

Two new e-bikes from Santa Cruz... will there be a third!? Will it be a full 29er? Or is there to much going on with the VPP and motor location not allowing it? Would sticking a 29” wheel on the rear cause the rear chain stay to be to long?
I think SC is really struggling to pack there vpp system and motor into a short chain stay. The new billet has already got a 449mm chain stay. With a 29inch wheel it would get ridiculous.

check the Giant Ebikes. They are like 470 or something.
My ebike is 440, it's too short to be honest and I like a short CS. Some Hills the front wheel is always inches off the ground. 450mm seems about the sweet spot for eebs.

Supposedly they'vevtaken the enduro and paired it with the same motor they used in the levo sl.
Anyone know anything about that?
People claim to have seen them in the wild too.
I can vouch for this, it has been spotted at my local trails
Saw two engineers testing it beginning of this year, could barely tell it was an Ebike aside from the sound of the motor as they rode past on what was otherwise an exact replica of the new enduro.
A broad rumour based on opinion and recent hindsight:
All brands will eventually have light weight half ebikes like the Specialized Levo SL's / Obrea Rise, as well as monsters with huge batteries. Look how many "normal" bikes the big brands have already 100mm race XC, 130 slack XC, 140/150 trail, 170 enduro 29, 180 27.5 park, DH, etc, etc.
I have been entering into the world of ebikes with my Dad recently. He has had a Scott Spark 27.5+ for a couple of years. But it's so heavy, so cumbersome, yeah it can ride ok, it's amazing uphills of course. However it's not as fun & capable on the descents as my 29 enduro bike. I did one ride last week on it with a 29ner front wheel, 2.6 tyre combined with a 2.8 27.5 on the back. A better combination, the narrower tyre was more playful handling, and cos it's 29, it just wants to keep going which helps speed the bike up. At the rear the 2.8 works well for all the potential pedal assist power you have, you need the grip.
BUT ITS SO HEAVY. You know when you have been riding it all day, it's not easy to ride aggressively.
The game changer is the Levo SL he recently bought. It's only a tiny bit heavier than my alpine build enduro bike. It descends almost as well and it's got pedal assist. Not as much as the turbo on a full on ebike, but that is ridiculous power anyway. We have ridden both bikes together, on similar modes for about 4 hours several times and they both last equal amounts. The lightness of the SL means that the lower power battery and motor is comparable to the chunky full on ebike. It's 29" too so it rolls, we are both short, and 29" is fine.
The brands will evolve their ranges to fit whatever people want. Two 700wh batteries on a frame 60lbs steam rollers or 35lb mini assist bikes that ride like normal bikes, and everything in between.

This is exciting!
Did you see how they integrated the motor with the linkage?
New ebike just arrived at my local Bikeshop it looks really good and comes stock with the mt7 brakes!

That’s not a new unreleased bike.. that’s just a 2021 SW Levo SL
BTW what's with the fork decals?
I said to myself "I'll ride them both equally"
how wrong I was....
