Then toe clips, but I was a low-key gravel biker before the term was invented. Riding my Specialized Rock-Combo on the fire roads near where I grew up.
When I decided to buy my first serious mountain bike, I got CLIPLESS pedals because everyone else had them. I distinctly remember trying to slide my foot backwards after clipping in for the first time, and promptly hitting the concrete. Good times.

Looks like Trek is testing updated rear end for the session.Seatstay could be carbon or just painted? Maybe new pivot location or idler location?Machined rocker link

I believe Trek are testing a new frame all together (I can't see the bend on the top tube the current one has) rather than just seatstays. I remember Vergier was riding a similar prototype some time ago.
Just to confirm, is that another 2, HP/Idler bikes (Vampire, Atherton) to add to that list of "fad" bikes.....Side note, I took delivery of a V2...

Side note, I took delivery of a V2 Dreadnaught very recently, Absolute weapon, unless of course youre trying to pedal it up a hill, its just an excuse for better fitness.

Vampire is not really a "fad" bike in the sense you're making it to be. Chris has a patent on multiple pivot locations and you get 3 bikes in one - classic low pivot, medium height and proper high pivot.
of note, I dont think of them as fad bikes,
Just grinding your gears from a while back when you eluded to HP idler bikes being fad bikes.....

They are very similar in size, I would say maybe 5% smaller overall platform.
Tried to "dry" clip them in to my Fox Union shoes, but the pins are quite high, and the clip mechanism seems quite hard (From my experience shimano is the same, and it takes a bit for them to "break in) - So I could not clip them in by hand and check how well it contacts the shoe. Pins are not adjustable afaik. But its probably a non issue when mounted and you use your body weight.

Nice, I was definitely interested as I find Oneup to have great design and engineering. But focusing so much on the "thinnest" aspect when my XTs are about 3mm thicker and thus have 1.5mm less clearance is a bit deflating to their argument.

Also tough because they’re about the same price as the Saints but I’ve also seen Saints on Amazon for $115 recently. The big thing with the OneUps is the weight. 142g less than the Saints is really good if they perform and last similarly.
Just beware of cut priced Shimano product on Amazon
I'll bet dollars to doughnuts they arent Shimano pedals, but a reasonable facsimile

Rumor has it that Italian “friction specialist” Raicam is planning on growing in MTB with brakes but also e-bike propulsion… https://www.rideraicam.com/
Gotta forgive them. They're old. Technology is hard sometimes.
use shorter ones then?

Just a minor blip on the path to Crab bike dominance...

Been a long time visitor... first tech rumor contribution, what shock is that? 👀
New Fox Float X2.
Performance elite X2 prototype.
To add some context, the reservoir isn't visible because of the way Frameworks mounts the shock.
