Cam's out here at the US National Champs racing both Dual Slalom and Downhill. We stopped by the YT pits to check out his carbon Tues Downhill bike. One of the first things we noticed is he's running a 27.5-inch front wheel and a 26-inch rear. He was pretty busy being dad so we didn't get a chance to ask him why he prefers this setup for racing, but we'll pull him aside ASAP and update you with the full details. (Editors Note: We spoke to Cam regarding his wheel-size choice and he said it just came down to preference. He normally rides a custom 26" version of the Tues specifically for events like the Red Bull Rampage, but he tossed a 27.5" upfront on a whim and liked it for racing.)
Aboard the bike are the unreleased Deity Components TMAC signature pedal. While these pedals have already been seen quite a bit, we were stoked to get a closer look at them. With 14-pins per side and a large amount of concave, they look to offer gobs of grip, just look at that profile!
Cam's running SRAM's X01 DH 1x7 drivetrain with a 34-tooth chainring and no bash guard, pretty risky out here since there are a couple burly rock gardens with plenty of opportunities to strike the unprotected chainring.
Sensus and SDG cover the other two contact points of Cam's bike. The saddle is a special edition Sensus SDG Patriot and the grips are the original Zink Signature Swayze gum rubber single-ply.
Here you can clearly see the 26-inch rear and 27.5-inch front. More details on that to come.
