Dainese had a number of new protection pieces on display, including their new Rhyolite upper body protection. Still using low-profile, flexible Pro Armor for the elbow and shoulder pads, as well as their Flexagon Technology back protection, the Rhyolite suit looks to be a good low-profile solution for those wanting full upper body protection that’s not as bulky as traditional suits.
The less robust Trailknit Pro shirt features a breathable, hypoallergenic and anti-microbial base layer with a removable back pad and some light shoulder protection.
The Trail Skins 2 knee guards feature a honeycomb shell Dainese calls their Pro Armor pad, as well as some added protection to the sides of the knee. The new pads look pretty sleek and seem light enough for heavy days on the trail bike, but not quite burly enough for some proper DH riding.
