Does anyone know if there's an entry list available for the European DH Champs yet? Sounds like there could be some top names there this year.
There are two separate rider registration systems; one for national teams and one for individual racers, so we'll probably be waiting until the week of the race before we see anything official.
So...this is more general than Les Gets, but anyone ever try the Risk Racing remote control Roll Offs. In moto, you can pull a tear off or tug a roll off over jumps & on straightaways.
But in DH, you're never in the air that long. Would be far better for a DH racer to push a button than risk a hand off.

I am so surprised we dont see these being used by all WC riders, with the way Dak was FAFin about with his tearoffs. I didn't know a company even made one so I was thinking I should make one with a little bluetooth module and little motor.

I thought some companies gave it a go a couple of years back but they worked so badly everyone went back to tear offs, maby with more reliable devices now they would work better.

Want to say Scott & Oakley tried them years ago in moto, but gave up because costs back then were insane & glitches caused canisters to randomly dump the whole roll in a single cycle? Not even sure at the time if they had bluetooth tech when they tried using motors.
I "think" then they were just motorized. No remote trigger. Button whack on the canister to activate.
The Risk Racing has 2 cool features.
1. Can clip onto any brands Roll Off since it just actuates the string pull
2. If battery dies or the bluetooth signal glitches, you can still pull the string like normal. It stays out of the way of manual function.
Hey everyone, not sure how many people are interested in XC racing, but I thought I'll post it anyways:
Today's the day of the UCI XC-Eliminator World Championships in Aalen, Germany!
Now if don't know the Eliminator format or you've never watched one before, I'd recommend giving it a try anyways. It's a really fast-paced and action-packed sprint racing format where four competitors race each other around two laps of a ~1 km course and the first and second place advance to the next round. It's usually quite fun to watch. Fun fact: Even Loic Bruni enjoys it. He actually got a podium in an XC-Eliminator worldcup race in 2020, making him probably the only mountainbike racer of the modern era to get a UCI elite podium in both Downhill and XC.
There's even a free-to-watch livestream on YouTube:
... or a livestream by a local TV-station for anyone who speaks German:

Honestly speaking, I'd much prefer that the UCI supported the 4X world tour and champs rather than this sideshow.

There were 15.000 people watching live on location, it was hardly a sideshow.
It's a sideshow alright, how many regular world cup XC riders are there? How many established names are racing for the stripey jumper in this discipline?
15000 turnout for a free event in a city centre during German summer holidays isn't much to get excited about, there were up to ten times that in Les Gets over last weekend.
insta embeds are good, the original insta post was deleted/removed, so it didn't show up. here it is now (maybe jesse made a post error the first time?)
How many WC podiums does Minnaar have now? (I bet he has more podiums than most of the field has finals starts...)
Not a bad lineup for Crankworx Whistler
Works a lot better calendar wise this year, should be some good racing on that track.

awesome if that lineup happens, but i‘ve my doubts AG‘a gonna race
He can just do park laps on it. Since it's not World Cup he can lap it.
Pretty sure he's riding, just not at "bomb hole compressions" pace yet.

They're too busy supporting serious disciplines like snow biking and artistic cycling to be bothered with 4X.
"Sideshow" he says...
There were 15.000 people watching live on location, it was hardly a sideshow.
Having ridden here, I can say it's one of the most fun natural terrain parks you can ride. Basically everything is rocky fall line trail. So good.

DHSE snowshoe race replay
Rode Paja this weekend. I can find no lies in your description. I love riding there!
Yes, racing Crankworx DH this weekend and Nationals (possibly to get points for access to world cups: MSA)
Looks like Insta embeds are broken?
On the Downtime Podcast he said he was planning on racing Canadian Nationals

It's a pity Nina is out of the Crankworks DH with a head injury. 😧
It's been a poor year for Nina. Elbow injury still causing issue?
