Just something interesting from the ixs cup in verbier, in the u17 mens and womens category two kiwi juinors who will be racing world cups next year took the race by storm. Tyler Waite 2nd in u17 mens with some mistakes - he was fastest in qualis, Ellie Hulsebosch took the win in u17 womens for both qualis and finals. Those two are going to have a big impact in juinors next year.

They’ve been posting pictures on instagram story where they’re holding hands and constant use of heart emojis, looks like they are dating for sure.

BK took her in as an employee when she was 17 years old and he was 30, thats kinda child grooming territory.

The grooming part is what I was worried about too and kind of hopped was not true.  I have come to like BK as a rider and what we see but that would make it hard to look at him the same way.   That is just creepy.

Might not be morally right but he's not wrong.

One thing I've noticed about the Kiwi racers - especially the Junior women - is what a tight knit group they are. No matter which of them wins or loses, they always celebrate together. After the incredible World Champs performance it looks like the 2024 World Champs race could be epic when Eliana Hulsebosch is added into the mix.

I know UCI gets a lot of cr*p this year, but one thing they got right was making the Juniors finals available live. The women and men Elites are going to be pretty thrilling in the next 2 or 3 years, when the final overall standings top 10 are likely to include 5 or 6 riders who are 20 years old or younger.

I think UCI points work across all disciplines. That's why blenki and connor fearon etc can ride in EDR and EDR E.

Curious to see if he races the US Open this weekend at Killington. Lot of big names are signed up already according to the Vital podcast.

I am excited to see Richie on the DH bike. I love the way he throws a bike around. At the same time Richie moving to DH is one more nail in the Enduro coffin.

Yeah completely agree, its seen at even the national rounds - yes everyone is competitive but theres rarely any times where even the slower racers are ignored or kinda thought less of because they aren’t as quick. World champs and even just the whole season for juinors will be really interesting next year. Nz finally starting to make a comeback after not having a heap of action over the past few years in dh.

Weird that the Registered Rider list isn't available on Bike Reg?
Or is that just Zone4 that shows that?

I wonder if the us open is a tester for the double header dh and ews listed on 2024 UCI calendar, September 28-29 outside Europe. Would make sense for dh, snowshoe, killington, st.anne. Good ender to the season.

Not entirely sure after world cup series points and UCI points dilemma. I assume that EDR are only world cup series points. Therefore, Richie needed to attend other DH Races to have enough UCI Points.

On the otherside switching from DH to Enduro might be easier, because DH counts UCI points (except Semi Final). I do not know, how many Monopolly dollar you need to enter an EDR. 🤷🏼

E.g if a Team is registered as an Enduro and DH Team, they have the “bought” starting places. Previously, the EWS had more flexibility to allow DH riders to participate and help to promote the EWS.

I don't suppose there's any chance of a separate thread being set up for rumours about the Pivot team's love lives? Not really racing talk.

So...is Billy Bolt going to be present at SnowShoe again this year?

Because if he is and a USA racer wins, I don't suggest doing it in the pits.  Maybe down the hill a bit...

I dont think Billy has ever been at Snowshoe. Stu Baylor was there the first year and it was awesome pretty sure Luca blew up his bike after the race doing burnouts. That pit party the first year will never be topped probably because it was the last round that year.

Duh.  I meant to say Stu but I've been watching too many of Bolt's video clips lately.  Thank you.

haha that would be sick if Bill showed up though. I think he was actually at the Andorra race this year, ended up hurting his shoulder at the bike park and missing a couple races though.

Fox US Open of MTB Downhill finals are this Sunday, September 24, at Killington.

The start time for the Open class finals is TBD, because the amateur classes start racing at 11:15 with Open women and men starting after all other classes are done, and the amount of time it will take for the amateurs depends on how many racers there are. Last year's men's and women's champs (Norton & Hoffmann) are apparently back this year.

No live stream, but apparently Vital will have a replay on its Youtube channel after the races are done. Live timing will be on ChronoRace.

Qualifying/seeding is Saturday.
First place prize in women and men Open is $15,000.
