I’m still saying Minaar on a Commencal it makes sense
I don't think minnaar has any intention of leaving. he is one of the brands biggest ambassadors, if not the biggest. And with nearly 40 i don't think he will change teams for a few years and then retires.
Therefore why Devinci again? Or if it's a resigning or anything like that, where is Jure?

As for Loris, it might as well just be psychological, bouncing ideas off someone you trust. Which is what Jordi has hinted at quite a few times.
And World cup level and knowing what the knobs do, do you think motorsports guys do that? That has gotten to such a high level engineers set up the cars through simulations (numerical) and simulator running with only minute adjustments at the track, with the drivers often being pushed towards the 'ideal' setup because of multiple reasons.
As for Sram vs. Shimano/FOX, Loris already was on Sram, when he was with the Gravity Republic team (Lapierre/Specialized). In the end, it's just equipment and I'm sure Sram has techs just as knowledgeable, but it is fun to see Loris talking with Jordi and all the sound effects he makes
Could Unior be leaving Devinci and that is why Dak is saying he doesn't know what the future holds?
Yes, I think so. I really hope that someone else will step in. Devinci is a great brand and they just started testing a new version of the Wilson which looks like a very good platform.
What if Loris is actually not very stoked on Fox, seeing his frenchie buddies kill it on RS and Öhlins.

While we're all stuck on Fox, Loris, Jordie, dialled, etc... I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if he was to seek out a team with a different suspension sponsor.

Loris has been on the podium - and winning - quite a bit over the last few seasons. So it's not like he's constantly looking "up" and wondering if he needs different suspension to break onto the podium.
Besides, I believe Loic is the only one on Ohlins that is regularly on the podium.
He’s maybe not feeling as though he’s at a disadvantage by being on FOX, but perhaps he’s ridden other french bikes on sram and prefers it, maybe he prefers Bruni’s Ohlins who knows.
But perhaps now he’s really one of the top riders he has more choice. When he went to the Santa Cruz there we’re already a lot of well established team sponsors (fox, shimano, burgtech) he was young and unlikely to ask to change them (probably didn’t even think about it given the huge opportunity it was)
But now he’s probably one of the most wanted riders he could probably have more say in team sponsors at other teams that want him, where he’s the prime rider.
And perhaps given the amount of french on Sram and that he used to ride Sram, maybe he prefers it.
I dunno just a theory, all I’m really saying is I don’t think kit sponsors and component sponsors of what they currently use would strictly stop a rider signing with a new team because the new team use different sponsors.

I agree on your point, that it does not necessarily stop them - at the end it is all money related. Nevertheless, Loris is featured quite a lot with Fox (clothing) and for him to change everything (team as well as clothing / protection / goggle) would also mean the contracts would have to be aligned or there will be a buy out which makes things more expensive.

Yeah it could be expensive.
At Santa Cruz now all 3 riders are on different clothing deals Same at a few teams.
And let’s face it Trek (if that’s where he goes) have deep pockets and have changed all components in the past for riders, the full sram deal for the post Atherton team seemed very off the shelf, like it was for a quick turnaround to get a new team out.
I seem to remember a rider saying all contacts are January to January + however many years so they would likely be aligned. but I dunno just guessing.
Honestly I always thought he would end up with Bruni again, so I know nothing ha

They have Dean Lucas - who has been on the podium before. But yeah, a new teammate would be good.

I think this year has been a wash with so many taking the season off that we've almost forgotten a quarter of the field because they weren't out at the 5 races lol.

He doesn’t care about brands he wants to win another Championship and more wins will lock him into the record books he knows the Commencal is fast and works well with Fox suspension & Marshy got the bikes at 100% dialed!

The Trek XC factory team has been on SRAM for years prior, so it was only logical to go the same route after the athertons left incl. their personal sponsors.

Maybe not having to compete for the attention of Jordi has its advantages, He can surly only see so many riders on a race weekend?
If rider A feels like Jordi is spending more time with rider B on a race weekend does it get into rider A’s head?
Just because Jordi is so well known. Whereas and I’m sure R/S have a Jordi, the R/S chief Tech isn’t aswell know so riders may not feel as much at a disadvantage by having a normal R/S tech do some work?
Bruni and Fin probably have near one to one support on ohlins, maybe.
That’s a complete theory by the way ha ha
It's an interesting point. Only 5 in the top 30 overall men running rockshox and 1 of the top 10 women. I guess you could put this down to them only wanting to support teams running the full sram package and shelling out big on a selection of high profile teams (trek, commencal, canyon?). Maybe the smaller teams can get more cash together from multiple component deals?
Obviously the other 25 guys aren't on full factory fox support, but I would guess the sheer volume of riders running their stuff must have some kind of impact on the level of input they can offer a lot of these not-consistently-top-10 guys?
Could Loic and Greg be looking into doing something simmilar to Gwin? As in making there own program with there own sponsors rather than the fox/shimano or rockshox/sram combo? Greg is at an age where he could keep racing for another year or two and move into a managing type role pretty easily I'd imagine.
Who's friendly on social media and does it matter?
Minnaar commenting on Gee's Insta... Wouldn't think anything of it except it seems almost taboo to be openly friendly with an Atherton!
Millie... If I was on a team I'd probably expect some camaraderie from team mates. Rachel, Gee, Dan don't seem to comment on her feed at all, while Tahnee and Kaos almost always do... How crap is that for team dynamics? Is it sustainable?
Loic and Troy seem reasonably friendly
deanos_machineos to brendog... Can’t wait to jump on the train come 2021... so I'm guessing they're both staying on scott

I think fox just has a better marketing dept that is taking advantage of a past media void... and they are sorta crushing it. dialed videos are hot. but if i was a betting man I would say the support from fox vs rs is comparable, especially for the top riders
Was the sram or ohlins service support guys at any of the DH races this year?
I’m sure Loris could bring fox back to Trek if he wants to stay on Fox.

Tons more out there...
I think a few pro riders warmed a bit more to the Athertons after Red Bull Hardline.
For a couple of reasons -
a) They are proper hard core riders - that stuff is no joke. Many followed Gee into the big jumps to gauge speed.
b) They respected all the building work done at Dyfi by them.
Plus I think Greg and Gee were both employed by Red Bull for Hardline a couple of years ago, so might consider themselves colleagues, with an eye on post-retirement job opportunities.

Somewhere in a dark corner, an Öhlins technician shudders in cold sweats for what individualized attention to Loris would mean to his life and nervous system.
Maybe Loris sees how dialed Loic's bike gets when having a full "data" bike to use for setup at each race and wants that? Maybe he's tired of the puzzling with Fox and wants to actually make decisions on information not feelings?
I still think that's a big reason why Loic is consistently fast. His bike is super dialed to each track.

I quite literally laughed out loud reading this. You, sir, win the internet.
Out of interest does anyone know what happened with Danny and Madison?
Clearly he was out of contact but the announcement by Madison seemed to take everyone including Danny by surprise ?? Is there more to it or just miscommunication??
You would think his top priority is getting paid not who can fiddle with his suspension the best.
Do you think they are "fiddling" with his suspension just for fun? He gets paid for race results, and having a suspension setup that he is 100% comfortable with is a huge factor in achieving good results and ultimately getting paid. Look at guys like Loic, the amount of time and energy his team spends just in suspension setup is unreal. That dedication to the perfect setup has certainly helped him to establish himself as one of the all time greats.

GM of Madison Saracen team is apparently a douche... I mean its completely fine not to extend a contract but doing so in the "middle" of a season with few more races to be had while they could just wait a couple of weeks and not made themself look like idiots...

Arguably Loic won the last race almost exclusively because of suspension fiddling.
The top guys don’t run what we run. If Loris wanted a boxxer to feel like a 40 they could make it so or or close. Each brands have their particular fee but they can get pretty close for the most part. The Boxxer is a winner and so is the 40 and so is Ohlins for that matter.
Soft good deals can be a riders 2nd largest income source. So if a team that has a whole package would basically need to match or come close to what a rider needs that had multiple income sources. Syndicate let their riders have their own soft good sponsors and I’m sure fox and Oakley pay loris a decent amount. He’s a top 10 guy with almost guaranteed time in the peak viewing segments on World Cup races. Not everyone watches the whole thing.

The "Gee is a dick that nobody likes" thing is more meme than reality. People have been very clear about that when asked directly.
It's not all about the damper tune. Different spring designs will also give a different feel. Moreover, differ t chassis will have a different feel and that's not so easy to tune.
Plus everybody says top riders in fact do run products that are very much off the shelf, plus a custom tune. Compared to MX where you need to spend multiples of tens of thousands to get race spec and even then you're not fully factory spec.
(I'm presuming that Scott Mears is sticking with Danny wherever he goes , given their strong friendship and understanding from a rider/mechanic point of view)
The news that Scott is back racing DH next year potentially opens a can of worms as to who they could be riding for.
There has been a couple of hints dropped regarding Cube and a potential sighting of Scott riding a Cube at Danny's Descend Park (Hamsterley Forest) a couple of weeks back.
