Based on the filter on the Telum page, it looks like it’ll be $1,380 CAD or $1,000 USD. Interested to see if they offer a tuned shock like EXT and Push.

Also interesting to see they seem to have partnered with sprindex to be their spring supplier.

finally a shock for rich people!

Interesting they are pricing it against the likes of EXT. I've always been a big fan of both EXT and Vorsprung, so it will be interesting to see how they both compare at this price point.

I also heard Motion Instruments is releasing during sea otter as well, so that's going to be interesting for the suspension nerds among us.

I'm not opposed to the UDH standard becoming more common on gravel or road bikes. But the thought of more 13-speed drivetrains makes me cringe. I had hoped that maybe, just maybe, the War of Who Has the Most Cogs was finally over. I guess not.

On a mountain bike, I love big jumps between gears. I love my AdventX (luckily, xt has the double downshift on my other bike) 10 speed. I wish the Prime 9 One from Box materialized.

On a road bike, however, I need close gearing. When fighting a headwind, or desperately attempting to keep up with faster buddies by staying in their draft, having the "right" gear is critical. More, closer gears is welcome!

...except all the lab data out there shows that extreme chain lines are measurably less efficient. 13 cogs on a single cassette is stupid. 2x11 or 2x12 is the sweet spot, since dual chainrings allows for good chainlines regardless of which side of the cassette you're on.

Also Rotor has had a 13 speed road, gravel, and mtb cassette for years now https://www.singletracks.com/mtb-gear/lucky-or-unlucky-we-put-the-new-r…;

Big fan of EXT, had great experience with their customer service, they really go above and beyond. Heard nothing but good things about Vorsprung, hope they compete in the more "boutique" section of the market to provide better products and service. Didn't have the best experience with Push but hope they improve in that regard.

Definitely curious if there is anything from Motion Instruments. My last few pings to them looking to pick up some replacement parts have gone unanswered.

Steel for the teeth, carbon for the spider, aluminum for the direct mount attachment. $149. I wonder if you could reduce the eventual cost of replacement by making just the wear portion of the chainring replaceable, and integrating the spider into the crankarm since the spider doesn't experience any wear.... no, that's too ludicrous to consider.

(I'm sure it's a very nice chainring. Just funny how we end up engineering ourselves almost all the way back to older concepts.)

Careful, thats road bike territory! Dangerous!

I'm not sure if this is the best forum to discuss, but I think we are going to see a lot more from Bafang

https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/vitals-sl-emtb-test-sessions-karbon-b…

(you can find this frame on alibaba with motor+battery for $1700)

I have a Bafang m820 bike, and I can get a sustained 580 watts of output from it. It feels very close to a Shimano motor. The problem is that with a 400 watt hour battery you obviously get far less than a single hour of 580 watts. My question this: Everyone complains about the TQ motor being too weak compared to other SL motors, but whats the point of a powerful motor if you pair it with a <400 watt hour battery?

Tbh this is for an ebike forum. Ebike battery/motor capability discussions can cause some huge derailment.

Yea, that would be great. I used their system and it is really good, but I think BYB is ahead in terms of durability and sensor design for that market. I'm glad to hear they are (hopefully) continuing to innovate and change, I really liked the bit of time I had it on my bike.

I really wish something like the SussMyBike flow would be available, but better than their execution. It wouldn't be as accurate as the current Motion IQ system, but more consumer oriented, durable, and easier to interpret without the volatility of the ShockWiz calibration process and providing meaningful velocity data. I think the hardware design of that was a good idea, but the software execution was really poor. A bit more refinement would've gone a long way but it seems they went under.

Did you hear new hardware or software they are releasing from Motion Instruments?

I've noticed they have been back on IG.  They were silent from July to Feb and now 5 random throwback photos posted in the last 2 weeks.

I was told there might be some stuff coming out that could improve fitment on difficult bikes. That's all I know.

At a minimum it looks like new hardware that is more robust and does better in wet conditions, at least based on this post.

I'd settle for them re-releasing the location and time stamping handlebar button and actually staying in business so I can buy a sensor that fits my Dorado!

You are totally right. And I just took a look at the linkage, sb150 for sure. Now why did Richie just post this???? Just some bar drags like Matt Hunter for the gram I guess.

Motion Instruments have been really good at constantly updating their current software, even when they seem pretty quiet there seems to be stuff happening. The app gets very frequent updates with new features and bug fixes and they finally added android support too! I've had the impression there was hardware expansion being worked on but I don't know exactly what the plan is

Beringer the motorcycle brake brand out of France known for their high end brake systems for motorcycles has stepped into the mtb market, these brakes are CNC machined that are made in house in their factory in France. They are not cheap they start at €999  & €1199 for the custom option.

that‘s on old picture from around 2019/2020… old 36 factory, renthal bars (which yeti isn‘t using for years now), ion kneepads and a SB150/SB165.

edit: ok, some already pointed that out Smile
