For a second I thought they were already moving to carbon, but if you watch the video close in a couple other spots you can see it is still aluminum.
Pretty interesting in his interview how he talks about the body position on this bike is a lot better for him. Sounds like the stack is a lot taller. He’s more on top of it or something so he can see better?

also on a mullet, wonder if he will show up with a full 29 or just stick with what they've already built.

To be honest the welds joining the front shock eyelet to either part of the downtube are fairly obvious... Even on a mobile screen.

one thing greg said after we were done recording is how stoked he was that the bike has external routing. engineers/team recognized that WC practice time is extremely limited, as we know, and if there's an issue w/ brake or derailleur needing new housing/hose, it's a long process to dismantle/install/bleed/setup with internal routing. if done in a rush, the bleed may not feel the same. norco team will have pre-bleed brakes setup and ready for fast turn-around if needed. for WC level racing, seems like a no-brainer.

The V10.7 had external rear brake routing, supposedly at the race team's request. The V10.8 went internal.
Maybe you've found the real reason for Greg's departure Spomer...

The rest of the posts have parts mentioned that don't match, so I doubt those parts in the photo are what are mentioned. The last post states that the proto shock is pretty distinctive.

Yes, I’m a blind old fuck, but scrolling Instagram when the reel came up I thought so… “for a second.”
Best thing about the prototype IMO is that they went away from having a shock tub. I have limited shock choices on my Range because of clearance. Would’ve been cool if they had kept things open but it’s probably because I had to have that water bottle…
Minnaar throwing Syndicate under the bus a little on the other sites interview. He says he wants to build Norco using the best DH teams, Commencal Muc Off and Specialized Gravity, as examples. Sounds like he blames the Syndicate for his poor showing last year.

It seems NOrco figured out how to build an Alu version of the Range that they swore wasnt possible. Maybe the Alu version is 43 lbs, which makes the 38lb Range seem like a featherweight

Where did they say it wasn’t possible? They had hella proto ranges in AL lol.

Its a classic example of old dog, new tricks.
Greg is likely used to a certain level of input and treatment, he is one of the all time best, and in his mind (no disrespect) he feels he has a lot to give. But then youve got Jackson, who is prolly less demanding, has much lower expectations, and is fast AF, on absolutely anything!
SC got all the development they needed from Greg, and are moving on to a newer rider, who has different needs, and is prolly able to adapt more readily and quickly. Gregs prolly pissed a bit
Norco is going to get some unreal dev work from one of the most experienced, they just need to know when to cut him loose, cause he wont have 5 years at an elite level in him. But he would likely be an unreal team manager, and team dev leader, SC just didnt need that, cause Jackson is gonna be fast AF, even if hes on an noncompetitive bike...which hes not

On their site it specifies he’s on board as a “Team Director” that wants to race while his heart is still in it. Not brought on to be on the podium.
The distance between the main rocker pivot and the rocker-seatstay pivot looks pretty short, similar to other HP/idler Horst-ish layout bikes (Shore, Hope HB 916, etc.). So, looking like a HP/idler Optic on its way. (Can't remember if that was "confirmed" somewhere along the way)

It was. Someone threw these up a few pages ago. I am quite excited about this.
I just finished the vitalMX a1 podcast. ML said he went to the fox event before the race where they unveiled the 1 piece suit. He then said he was told that a few high level DH guys would wear them at some point this season. So the question is will it be worn at non WC events only or did the UCI change their rules?
It’s one thing to question a bikes cable routing, but look at that CHAIN routing…
Anything to glean from this?

Good point. All their R&D up to this point has been with the smaller back wheel. That was input from the other racers though…

Optic and Sight in February. Up on Norco site, overshadowed by news with Greg. Pretty rad all around
Heard a rumour that a Dreadnought 2 is coming soon... after all, there´s some discount on the current models.
Probably a lighter version of the dh-sled, with a 65mm stroke shock for 170ish mm of travel - that’s the new magic number in enduro!
Upon 2nd glance you are correct. That looked like a split pivot to me with that derailleur cable passing by the seatstay.
This is 100x times better than Pb's fluff piece.

New Sight with flight attendant. I know they offer FA on a lot of their models but could be an interesting combination with a HP trail bike.
