so why mondraker?? it says "there was a big reason Danny Hart signed for the team". not complaning just want to know.
Here's some more insight into Danny's switch for you guys from Mondraker:
"And about Danny Hart racing for MS-Mondraker ... amazing, right?? One really cool story is what we experienced when we met Danny Hart for some days, the week after the Worlds in Norway last September. I flew directly from Spain with my Summum Carbon prototype bike and Danny came almost all the way down to Austria with his old race bike to secretly test the Summum Carbon in an also secret location and remote downhill track. Cold, rainy weather, mud, ruts, rocks and 1.100 m of technical, twisty, super demanding downhill track that reminded me of Champery 2011 where Danny became World Champion. Danny started the cold day doing a couple of runs with his old race bike with the same Worlds set up and then jumped to another last prototype-pre production model of the Summum Carbon. Really amazing to see Danny aboard a Mondraker for the first time ever. We were together along with our Team staff for 4 days -2 days riding together non stop testing- and after some suspension proper setup for his liking performed by Pedro from Marzocchi with the Race truck on site, he set the fastest time on the first test day with a 4:45. From the very beginning he felt super confident and super fast on our bike. Danny kept record with his Go-Pro of every single run to later check his timings. And on the second day, on more rainy and struggling conditions, Danny bet his time with a 4:37. Truly amazing, something you have to see and witness to believe.
And it was then after riding the Summum Carbon when he was committed to join to our MS Team and sign for MS-Mondraker. The deal was made. For us it was like a dream come true."
No disrespect to the current riders on their teams but it seems like the big bike cos Giant,Trek?,Specialized? are dumping top talent this year to "downsize" their teams. In return the smaller teams have picked up some top talent. Insider knowledge that their smaller budgets will be able to achieve more this year without the big companies in the picture? Is 2015 DH going to be the year of the smaller bike cos? Specialized and Trek your move...

Don't forget that these are massive companies, of which Downhill is a tiny part of their marketing programme.
4-5 seasons ago both Specialized and Giant didn't even have a podium competing World Cup team, even if Specialised do lose one of their bigger two athletes, there will most definitely be a reason why.
Trek World Racing is maintaining theyre team for this year as far as I know, with George and Brook, mwoildnt be surprised if a female rider was to be on the roster, Tahnee Seagrave justbthrowing it out theyre, up and coming pinner, mshe would be a great assess marketing and selling bike wise!
Imo Specialised Giant etc its more politics than budget issues, regardless of what companies tell you, DH is flagship for MtB it might not grow DH sales but winning on Sunday helps sell on Mondays and it raises brand profile, so Enduro all mountain etc gain sales directly and indirectly.
Rest is purely poltics if someone tells you different, you need to invest to grow and if you are not you are dying and just dont know it!
Your bes investment and worst is people, oeople get to emotional on labels esspecially companies

its not that the large companies are dumping their talent, but this is just kind of how pro sports work. Talent moves around, the top teams do not stay the top teams forever
Official news from Trek World Racing regarding their 2015 roster. Before you read it, take a moment to relive Brook Macdonald's wild ride in Leogang last year:
Next year sees the UCI Elite Team, Trek World Racing, entering its 7th season on the World Cup circuit and will do so with 4 talented riders returning from 2014. World #9, Brook MacDonald clearly demonstrated that he has returned to form after his shoulder surgery by ending the 2014 season with a great 5th place at the World Championships as well as scoring 2 World Cup podiums in Leogang and Windham.
Brook is joined by compatriot George Brannigan, the current New Zealand National Champion who showed his growing potential in 2014 with a World Cup podium in Leogang, an 8th in Windham and by seeding 7th at the World Championships. Scottish rider Greg Williamson also returns after his best World Cup season to date. Greg scored two 9th places in Fort William and Méribel and for the 2nd year in a row scored a spot on Team GB for the World Championships.
The three elite riders are joined again by junior phenom Laurie Greenland who will next year race the full Junior World Cup circuit after having a great finish to the 2014 season scoring a silver medal at the World Championships, and his first ever World Cup podium in Méribel.
Neko Mulally has requested to leave the team in order to pursue other opportunities.
For 2015 the team will once again focus on the UCI World Cups as well as selected European events, basing themselves out of France. The team is returning to its usual roster of 4 riders and all will be racing the Shimano/Fox equipped Trek Session 9.9 650B which many times recorded the fastest speeds in the World Cup speed-traps throughout the 2014 season. The Session has scored more than 40 podiums since it starting racing World Cups back in 2009.
Next month sees the start of national racing on the New Zealand calendar with the highlight being the National Championships for Brook MacDonald and George Brannigan on February 14 and 15, a title that has been held by Trek World Racing riders for the past 3 years. This time it will be George Brannigan’s turn to defend the Championship.
With Laurie Greenland moving into the 2015 season carrying the ranking of number 1 junior in the World, and three talented elite riders all capable of World Cup podium results, it will be another strong year for the Trek World Racing program. More news on co-sponsors and new video releases will be announced during the remainder of the off-season.
Kona Gravity: Graham Agassiz, Antoine Bizet, Connor Fearon, Andrew Crimmins, Tegan Molloy
Kona Endurance: Barry Wicks, Spencer Paxson, Kris Sneddon, Cory Wallace, Helen Wyman
Kona just announced their 2015 Gravity team and Connor Fearon said he's there for '15 and '16.
So hopefully a 27.5 kona dh prototype will be seen in the upcoming season. They did well with their am/enduro options, hopefully kona does the same with their dh line. Since aggy runs operator often I wonder if Kona will make a 650b/26 interchangeable frame similar to scott?

Sometimes it's refreshing hearing the whole word endurance instead of enduro enduro enduro. I looked real hard… Is that a new Kona under Connor or is this older Kona footage?
