Why is joe smith still on that team though? I feel like he has sort of peaked out with that team, he is a top 20 rider but wouldn't they do better with another junior or more of an up and coming rider on the team? Maybe he just helps fill the british rider quota for the team lol
He had a really frustrating year in 2013, but progressed well in 2014 (didn't he win the last BDS?), I feel like he could be getting a few top10's, maybe even a podium this year.
It would be cool to see the 2 Sams together, would that mean SamB would go back to flats as well, yeah right, be cool though too to see his older style return.
I think that as lacking in charisma as danny is, giant have made a big mistake letting him go.

Really happy blenki is on norco, makes sense for them to sign a top rider with their carbon Dh rig just round the corner.
My own crackpot theory with the whole SRAM TLD thing is that brosnan will move to SRAM TLD, run the usual blackbox and specialised gear. Which leaves specialised to allign with fox and build a programming around gwin.
Troy just posted this to his fb page. Looks like you could be right, sram/tld don't have a top rider yet as far as I'm aware, and they'd have the cash to get him. Plus, it'd be a seamless transition as brosnan probably wouldn't change his setup from specialized, just change the kit and get on with it
Why would spec axe a kid from their factory team who just had his first world Cup win and had his best season to date?
Probably the same reason they axed a team manager who took them to their best season to date.
Having read the EC interview on PB it seems that a management change has led to a shake up of their downhill racing program and probably some cost cutting. Gwin isn't cheap, we know that, so having Troy on another team, but still running Specialized bikes is a win win for them.
Also having to run Fox and Rockshox setups doesn't make sense. 2x testing, 2xspares, riders can't share setup info etc. It had to change.
Fair point, didn't bother to check what he was running, haha. My guess though, if troy is actually going to move, is that he would either decide to keep running the demo frame, or retain specialized as a frame sponsor, and then specialized would let SRAM foot the bill for travel etc. Then spec still get nearly the same amount of exposure but at a fraction of the cost as actually having Troy on the team. As Oz_Taylor said, its a win/win for them.
he/she's wearing gloves, so i don't think its blenki!
needles? seems to be cold though, in the previous postet pic you could see snow not too far in the background!
so that could be a reason for blenki to wear gloves...
can't wait to see where blenki goes, i'd love to see him on nukeproof though

Money.
Gwinn will be signed to a fairly large deal, and transporting brosnan from OZ every race will add up, then factor the sponsorship issues that arise from specialized having ropelato running ohlins suspension, gwinn running fox and brosnan running rockshox, wayyyyy too many parts and spares to transport to every race.
If specialized keep gwinn and ropelato they have 2 guys who live in the same state as the factory. It's win win for specialized and SRAM, spec cut costs and likely keep brosnan on a demo and SRAM get a top rider.

Probably Needles seing the position of the brake levers (front brake on left side). Both Blenky and Hart use them the other way around.
But then again, it does seem a little short to be Needles....

I thought he has a top-10 at Windham. He's a solid rider.
What's up with Cam Cole btw?
Is he still racing for Commencal? He's been posting pictures of Santa Cruz bikes on his instagram and referred to Kieran Bennett as his team mate. It would be awesome if he came back racing world cups. Even though it didn't sound likely in his latest interview on Vital.

Heard rumors around that he won't be racing at a world cup level next year, his commencal is up for sale locally. I think unless he gets called up to a major team he won't travel overseas to race.

That is too bad. I was hoping his deal with Commencal was for more than one year. Still time to find a full factory ride. I guess that crash two years ago gave him a new perspective on life.

Dang, he's a great rider man!
Would be a shame if he didn't find a WC-Team!
while on the subject, what about dem Banshee boys? I think they turned some heads last season, so would be great to see them back! Being a Banshee rider myself, I wouldn't mind seeing them back on Banshee, but whatever!
From Brendogs FB this morning.

Nothing to say there.
I guess we'll just have to wait to see what happens.

Just seen on Instagram, same shoes that he wore all season and it looks like a Kabuto helmet. Maybe Neko....
