A handful of frames recently became available on their website. My theory is that that they were warranty frames being held back and delivery of new colors is imminent.
It’s interesting to hear that it’s considered a flop. I really like mine and they were pretty hard to get when they came out. Maybe the recall hurt them.
DH bikes are usually loss leaders (more accurately a marketing tool) for a brand once dev costs are factored in. “Flop” needs a lot more context in this case.
all he said was the bike was disappointing for anything other than... in his words "flying to south africa with Sam Reynolds and doing big F%$k off jumps" - He was on a Spire with 190mm fork. I didnt really ride with him like I hoped because he rode off so damn fast I had no chance haha

As someone who is a huge fan of the current Float X, I don't know how you can release a 200mm DH bike with a float x as the only shock option and claim it's a serious race contender with a straight face.

While I agree it seems undergunned, the fastest woman I know runs the stock shock on her TR11 and says it’s fine. She is pretty light though.
They also chose it when the Float X2s were still exploding. My guess is they wanted to spec it with an air shock and they didn’t want to choose one that would die first ride. The Float X also helps them keep the cost down a bit.
OneUp SPD compatible pedal incoming, as light as XTR Trail with (almost) the platform of Saint and DH Mallet.
Claim to fame, thinnest SPD on the market, and they've tightened up the binding so you don't get that metal on metal vague feeling (before reaching the float).
There was an exclusive Downtime podcast on it a couple of days ago which now seems to have been pulled down, they may have jumped the gun.

the million dollar question - will they be as durable as shimano pedals?

Speaking of pedals, anyone has time on the Pendulums, yet?
I have about 200km and 10,000M of vert on the Void pedals and they've been incredible so far mountain biking in the snow/ice/slush. I fat bike a lot and usually wear snow hiking boots with deep lugs for warmth. The Voids with have been the grippiest pedal I have for that kind of footwear. I used to swap between clipless and flats but for the first time I don't feel like switching. Lack of an axle really makes the foot sink in and lock in place.
On the same podcast where OneUp talked about the new clipless pedal they also talked about their flat pedal offerings and how their point of difference was they are convex rather than concave. They said what they have noticed is this helps the foot mould to the pedal more naturally i.e. the arch of your foot standing on something smaller than your foot.
The Void and Pendulum pedals effectively create an exaggerated concave. From the reviews they don't lack grip, I wonder which is more comfortable on long descents?
Oh, OneUp also mentioned a new flat is coming soon too.

To be clear, I didn't mean that's the only place it can be found, just that it was interesting in amongst all the Atherton talk. If I had to guess who else is doing it, Nicolai would probably be top of the list!
My McGarry Tues also has that design. When started building the bike it was a downer noticing they were missing so had to request some in the post.

Depends where you position your foot. Arch over axle - convex. Ball over axle - concave. Wonder if their new flat pedal will be convex or just a refinement of the existing?

It didn’t fit because they couldn’t get it to. Also that bike has a 40% progression rate. It’s a joke of a dh bike that people sac ride because of the bro culture.
It's almost exactly the same rocker shape as the one from the FMD teaser on instagram
Seriously?
Its a transition prototype, case closed.

One crab looks like another crab. Let crabs be crabs 🦀
Yeah you're right, at that angle I can see the differences.

Only time will tell eh, they did mention the pedals ship with a thin socket so you can service them easier.
Speaking of pedals, anyone has time on the Pendulums, yet?
SPD's belong in a hall of fame with Nokia 9210's and cast iron cookware, they'll survive the heat death of the universe.
If the OneUp SPD's last even half as long as a shimano they'll be incredible

Must be coming soon. Landing page banner on their site.
I think I'm the only one to not have Shimano pedals last forever. I get 1-2 seasons on them before the bearings are shot.

Hell,
I've got a pair of time ATAC pedals from 1999 that are still going strong.
Nice, must have just gone up, wasn't there yesterday I think.
My McGarry Tues also has that design. When started building the bike it was a downer noticing they were missing so had to request some in the post.
Wasn’t having great luck with the shimano trail spds, both Xt and xtr.
Switched to Ht and have had no issues. Cleats last longer. Better release.
This year I went LOOK on my trail bike and Chromag on my DH bike and i've been happy. So far they seem to be holding up.
The new one-up clip pedal
So are we calling Clipless pedals Clip pedals now?

We are now, still, yes.
Those oneup pedals are the SPD answer to CB, no rubbish 'play/icy/metal on metal feeling' anymore
solid pedal to shoe contact.
Might finally make me switch to SPD - got my preorder in already!
