Be nice.

Also, you have to remember that development is secret and maybe he doesn't want to put that XXX brand is making a USD fork as they will know he is the one who leaked it, as potentially only a handful of people currently know.

Didn't Rock Shox make an XCUSD fork a while ago? Perhaps they're using what they learned from that to move it into the DH market?

Ohlins should try that as they are no strangers to USD forks from Motorsports. It would be pretty cool seeing a classic Ohlins gold USD DH40 on Bruni's rig.

Didn't Ohlins recently announce they weren't going to develop any new MTB products?

Hmm, I guess this isn't super clear though...

"During 2023 we reached our goal of a full MTB portfolio, from DH to XC. This means we are entering a new phase where we will be improving performance through a combination of running changes and new m.X versions.

When it comes to MTB racing, we’re not going anywhere, as it is the backbone of our innovation. We will remain involved with our partner teams in both Downhill and XC racing, and we look forward to the future seasons.

The decision to restructure platform development and distribution will not affect our existing product line, and our full range of MTB shocks and forks will be available in the market. Assistance with service, maintenance, and warranty claims will also continue as usual through our global network of authorized dealers and service centers."

Is the rumored USD fork a MTB fork or e-Moto? Is anyone paying attention to all the new players in the e-moto business and what impact it's having on the traditional moto and mtb/e-bike market. As a father of a teenage boy I'm constantly being informed about the all the new products. How about Sirris suspension, my son says rumor is former Fox and Ohlins employees. https://ridesirris.com/

I probably service 1 of those a year, and one I did recently had done about 10,000k without a service and was in pretty damn good condition inside. The USD concept of keeping oil on the bushings is way more beneficial than people give it credit for.

Yes, and the relevance to MTB is the fact that the demand for 40/58's for e-moto's is significant and why haven't any of the established suspension companies pursued that market which at this point looks poised to dwarf the MTB DH fork market.

They have and do.

However the stigma of and use of those “throttle assisted” (not pedal assisted) ebikes means that they prefer not to shout about it.

Nothing to do with stigma. I just don’t think anyone’s 768 pages down this particular rabbit hole to get excited about whispers of a new e-moto fork.

Worked for a company selling a shit ton of brakes to Surron. They'd take the money, but did not shout about it considering the amount of chavs that bomb around on them balaclavad up and knicking purses in London.

Someone should tell Manitou how wrong it is for them to sell boatloads of Dorado's to Surron owners. I would be extremely surprised if they actually sold more to the MTB market at this point. A big suspension company would have to be pretty clueless to ignore the e-moto market at this point tbh.

Is a brake really that hard to design and manufacture? It's not a super simple product but it is just an assembly of a bunch of fairly straightforward parts. It's not like a rim or a carbon frame where you need expensive tooling and a bunch of special sauce on the engineering side of things to get a functional product.

Good point on the "cranks come with bikes" statement. Shorter cranks seem like a huge thing at the moment because everyone that's talking about their short cranks online, but the percentage of people actually buying them i guess is really really small. If Shimano would offer the XT in 160 and 155 then it'd probably kill most people's interest in most of the smaller brands, but they'd also have to figure out how to communicate to buyers that their boring looking crank is actually built in a way cooler way than cutting it into shape on a mill.

Hel have been making motorcycle brakes for years

Not sure if this was posted before but Biggiecomponents released a SRAM T-TYpe adapter that fits older Yeti bikes between 2019-2023 that are non-UDH, The adapter kit cost only $65 USD.

I believe 5Dev made one first a year or so ago. Bit more expensive though and looks to be discontinued. https://5dev.com/products/yeti-2018-2022-udh-mod-kits

this one may include the new axle you need as the old one wont make it there with the adapter, most likely..

Given that it was probably SRAM's lawyers that were responsible for 5dev discontinuing the udh mod kit, ordering the biggie kit sooner rather than later is probably a good plan if you think you might want one.
