Speaking of (not really TEAM RUmors, but topical to your post), Stoneking announced that next year would be their last. I'm sure they'll come up with another experience race (or maybe they'll pivot their model to something else).

Thanks for the love! I think we killed the Cammi to Pivot rumour, sorry 😂😂😂

That was SUCH a good episode, thank you!

Any chance of a follow-up with Martin now that he's had a chance to talk to Chris Ball?

Dick Rude didn't seem to have any issues qualifying and then finishing mid pack in the finals at MSA. That says a lot for someone who hasn't really raced much DH in a decade. It would be sweet to see him make the switch to full time.

Dak, Luca, Gwin, Silva, Neko, Maples, Rude, Grice and Pinkerton. That's a very strong elite US DH force right there.

Ok. Not a rumor per se. Just me making a rumor.

Sparkle fired her coach. Saying nice things now. But what if it soon becomes obvious, about all the stories that NOBODY goes to the Olympics unless they are this guys Pet Project?

I hope she did, as far as I can tell the dude has done nothing but screw up a promising career. Hopefully she can make a change for the better!

Oh thank you! I think it might be a bit soon to get Martin back on again straight away but he’s always welcome.

So enduro riders with no team

3  polygon riders

3 devinci riders

4(?) ibis

possible Sram nukeproof gone 3/4 riders

GT 1 rider

yeti..? Bex isn’t tagging anything of them in any post recently.

that is a lot of riders who potentially won’t have rides on other teams as there isn’t many teams in the EDR paddock

i can see the end of the road for some of these riders given the current climate and less money in the bike industry

more so if the 2024 rumour is true that EDR finishes and goes to EBike for 2025

havent heard the MUTN podcast, does it allude to this or shed any light on it?

I think he also flatted in both of his finals runs, so I suspect he's got more pace than the results show.

Maybe just an email and not on the pod? He was going to ask Chris a bunch of questions about next season and I'm *very* interested to hear any of the answers he's able to share...

I don't know how true it is, but I've heard Bex is looking for a job outside of racing.

Imagine if Dick stayed in DH that 10 years?  Dick & Dak on Yeti in ‘24!  Got my vote.

I’m thinkin all the teams that are, dissolving, are just restructuring. But it causes buzz in the industry, then gets views and clicks to word it the way they do.

I think we’ll still see the teams and riders, just with different sponsors and team names, for legal and financial reasons.

Could be true, however I can also tell you that she's planning to set up her own program with her partner.

Regardless of what the other website says, no more orange team either according to the riders.

Code Name In the mysteriously dark, seedy Skull & Bones secret society of "The Rick's", Dak is Dik.

I can say no more of racing's dark & mysterious underground master race.

Typically in my line of work the contracts start Nov 1.   Why is it so late for announcements in the MTB world?  I just want to see Martin’s World Wide control of the DH scene be told spread to the masses. Actually, I just want to get myself in a lather for 7 months while I wait for the first round.

Only slightly related, but:

Imagine for a moment how hard it must be for a former pro mtb racer to find a well-paying job outside the industry.

I mean, even though some might have a bachelors degree or might be classically trained in a profession, most of them started training and racing full time when they were kids and haven't really done anything else since. All most of them ever did was ride their bike. As a result there's probably very few pro racers with any significant working experience or qualification that could help them land a well-paying job outside of the industry, once they are done racing.

That's sort of the reason why I stepped away from racing XC, turned down a contract for a (small-scale) "pro" team and went to pursue a law degree. Like, at some point the dream is over and you gotta wake up and start thinking about your future, right?

IIRC it’s mandated by the UCI

I think the expression is something like not putting all your eggs in one basket.

It's like me trying to sell life & disability insurance to 25 yr olds.

Got to listen to the making up the numbers podcast. Martin said in the interview that Frameworks would be announcing soon another elite male rider, who has been on the podium. Charlie Harrison out of retirement? He is already riding Frameworks bikes
