Update from Noga:

"Wondering what the &*@% is going on with me?!?
Check Below 👇

My athlete sponsorship agreement was terminated on the 13th of April. This mid-season surprise caught me off guard and left me with a lot of uncertainty about my future. After quite a few sleepless nights, I decided this is not the way I am ending my career, and I will do everything I can to see this season through .
I started sending emails to potential sponsors and was encouraged by some amazing brands that gave me hope. @joesnoflats were the first to jump on board and made it possible for me to get to Europe and also to keep my bike clean and running. @israelpremiertech were the next to show their amazing support. Their incredible generosity made the rest of this trip possible. @dtswiss @100percentbike @jinga_clothing @goldfus.ins @shimanomtb, jumped on board and set me up with amazing products.
The first few days of #teamimprovise were super fun but also pretty stressful with a lot of uncertainty.
Practice with the Israeli crew was great, and everything went smoothly.
After practice, I met with the @commencalbikes family who had this CRAZY idea to race their bike in the upcoming race with no real prep time. 🤯
I was very excited to try the bike, but we agreed that I would race them only if I felt comfortable.
They worked the next night and day to build the bike.
Friday evening, 5 seconds into the first run, I was already shocked with the performance of the bike. 2 runs in I totally fell in love , so we decided to take the risk and race the brand new Commencal Meta V5.
All in all, I am happy with my race, and if 8th place is what I can do with 2 runs on the bike, just wait until the next round 😉

I am super motivated to push through, and I appreciate all of your support!
Thanks to all my amazing friends and family who helped me get through this challenging time 💖"

Can't wait to share some more exciting news really soon 😊

I posted it in team rumors first and then saw this so I'll re-post here:

I'm wondering what happened there as well, was it a strangely timed just end of contract and not picked back up or did something go down? It's unlikely given the rest of the GT line up that it's results related as most of their racers are far more social media presence than top 10 which isn't a bad thing with who they have. In that team, as much as I enjoy her on and off the bike presence wise, Katy would have been the more obvious cut after last year and being hit or miss due to injury if that was the case of budget vs time vs performance. Was there something that went sideways business wise?

Not sure if this has been discussed here, but on a local Swiss Bike Site they mentioned the banning of chainsaws at the Lenzerheide World Cup this weekend...Kein Scherz: Weltcup Lenzerheide verbannt Kettensägen vom Streckenrand | Ride Magazin

Translated the text below for all the English speaking fellas.

What sounds like a belated April Fool's joke is actually meant seriously: The chainsaws, which are extremely popular fan utensils in downhill, remain silent at the World Cup in Lenzerheide. The reason is that the race tracks are located in a spring protection zone. After eight years of the World Cup, this decision by the municipality and the canton comes a little late.

The organisers in Lenzerheide announce with regret that no chainsaws are allowed on the entire World Cup site this year. And this despite the fact that such a ban has never been an issue since the first event in 2015. But now there is a new water protection map, according to which parts of the bike park and thus also parts of the race tracks are located in a spring protection zone. Therefore, it is no longer allowed to bring petrol-powered machines onto the site. Trail builders must even refuel construction machines outside the zone. The directive comes from the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz via the canton.

Now the organisers are calling on the fans to get creative in order to cheer on the athletes technically. For example, play the chainsaw sound on a boom box via mobile phone? In any case, taking chainsaws with you is not a good idea, as they will be confiscated at the entrance. At least you get them back when you return.

Makes a lot of sense though to ban gas-powered tools in what is essentially a natural conservation area, for emission reasons. Plenty other ways to make noise.

Honestly a company doesn't just let an athlete go from a team contract like this for no reason... it is a contract for a reason, and the only way they could do it without legal penalties has to be valid and some way of a breach of contract.  And GT isn't stupid enough to voice said reason, from a moral or legal perspective.  She might have been caught off guard, but there are many employees that are caught off guard from being let go for cause, because they just don't see an issue....

Always two sides to each story...I am curious what GT's actual story is......

Yea, holding the wrist like that after landing on it, in a bunch of rocks and roots does not look good. Dude finally has a good bike, sucks if it's another setback.

Luke Meier Smith out with a broken collarbone in practice.

the commentary is going to take some getting used to for sure, the ambient setting on GCN+ is nice, hopefully someone offers some commentary we can stream at the same time

Ok that coverage was very ordinary. Patchy sound, results list showing the elite women in junior mens, swapping from one rider to another mid run.

Listening to Rick was as exciting as watching paint dry and Cedric was like a poverty Claudio.

They really need to do something with the graphics too. Hard to read and riders were often shown with  green timing even though they were behind.

Also, I can't help but wonder if Cedric is being paid by the word.

So glad I found this, I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay to listen to these two. Do they have a delay for the split times in the booth or are they just blind?
