I know I am the only person on earth that cares, but seems bonkers to me that I can't check out the live timing for the UCI E-EDR happening right now, and there isn't any rudimentary feed giving race updates. (There is a live timing page, but no results for the pro athletes)
I get there is a lot of e-bike hate out there, but if you are not going to run any promotion for your world series, why bother?
Jackson had appendix issues when he was racing down under (talked about it on the Feeding Off Each Other podcast, I believe)... like he lacerated his appendix or something. It evidently could have been really bad, but they repaired it. I was wondering why he didn't just get it removed then instead of keeping it. I guess it's come back to mess with him now, and that sucks.
clarification communicated based on that rule book page is that timed training is not "nuked" (sorry, my mistake), but there's the option to not have timed training or mandatory training two days ahead of the final. with that amendment, a world cup DH could technically be turned into a two-day event (training only mandatory the day before the final according to book...the "two days before mandatory" rule now crossed out).
sounds like there is no timed training at lenzerheide which was a surprise to racers/teams because it was on the preliminary schedule. not sure what future races look like.
thanks @BGoldstone !

They discussed this on the Making Up The Numbers podcast. Something about equal practice time for all riders and the possibility of running the final EDR stage on the DH track so it can be filmed.
This is the schedule currently listed on the Mountain Bike World Series site. There is still practice two days before elite finals (juniors only have one day before finals now), and I would assume the Thursday - 3:45 to 5:15 pm "Downhill Training Elite" is timed training. But this could be an old schedule and not what teams/racers have seen since the latest rule amendments.
Interestingly there is no track walk listed or different practice times for A/B groups. The schedule below also gives more practice on qualifying day to elite men/women than before.
Man it’s always been hard on juniors but it’s going to be total mayhem having 17 year olds trying to qualify on a few practice runs after traveling across the world on moms and dad’s dime.

Some of her captions seem to allude to some change of focus in her life. That being said, I think her latest story, she's on a purple Sensor (maybe?) and Conti tires, which would still be GT gear, right?
Any idea if that's different than the Redbull media release?
it doesn't seem out of the ordinary. ESO can do whatever they want w/ the images/videos they gather during the race weekend. send it or sell it to anyone/anything for any purpose. if loic bruni is on track and ends up in a chevy ad b/c ESO sold footage to chevy, then there ya go. if that footage ends up on fox news or cnn b/c ESO sent it out to those outlets, then there ya go. loic can't try to claim any $ from ESO as a result. seems pretty boilerplate, right?
Crazy that they dropped her and she changes bikes what looks like the day or two before the race and goes on to have her best results of the season by a long margin…
I'm just happy people are taking concussion recovery properly instead of pushing through and suffering as I've seen people do in the past.
finale EDR practice vid
Jackson out for round 1.
NO!!! THAT SUCKS!
3 hours of Vital RAW from 2022. i'm just going to play it and fall asleep to the sounds of whistles and bike smashing tonight : )
And whistles. Don’t forget the whistles.
I'm still waiting on a 10h loop of the slideshow music to lul me to sleep every night.

ugh, that's rough! glad it wasn't any worse
can't confirm but hearing through the rider grapevine that timed training won't happen this year. stay tuned
Seems timed training was dropped when they amended the rule book with the protected rider and semi final point changes

Here is last year's schedule for comparison.

Rachel lining up for round 1!
Yep! Discussed one page back . The big question is will she land on the podium?
I must have missed her announcement earlier!
She's such a tough racer, I would never bet against Rachel on the box.

Always read the small print
looks like she is riding a commencal now:
Bummer... I like Noga and I like the folks from the GT Team. Hate to see them part ways and hope that it was at least somewhat amicable.
Any idea if that's different than the Redbull media release?

interesting that jackson is not able to race lenzerheide next week but is fit enough ripping morzine? that‘s from today.
Syndicate IG said he was getting out of the hospital yesterday and had serious FOMO. Looks like he might be racing after all.
Katy concussed again and Eddie Masters injured his shoulder, both happened during Pietra.
Ugh. That's sad news.
