I felt this was the bike I needed to come back after severe shoulder surgery. The racing dynamic had changed, tracks started to be rougher with faster, technical sections and a new generation of riders had come through; it was a different style of racing altogether. I liked the way I sat in the 10-inches of travel, letting the VPP do all the work when the bike needed to be pedaled. The VPP to this day is showing its superiority and versatility on every type of track the UCI World Cup takes us to. There has been no need for the Syndicate to swap to a trail bike when there's a little pedaling on the course. - Greg Minnaar
