Bodhi puts a heater down to take 2nd. Lost a lot of time in top of woods and a bit in first split but made time in places most the post rain crew could not. If only it had been broadcast and I didn’t resort to live timing once eso put a replay on YouTube before the race was over.
Paywalled stream was also ended just about the time they resumed racing.
Brodhi Kuhn just put down a 2nd place run after the track was soaked, it would have been amazing to watch. It may have been like Hill's 2nd in the rain all those years ago but I guess we'll never know...... Last week the the issues and ineptitude (both on free streams and for elites) were sorta expected and forgivable, there's bound to be teething problems. But this week... patience is harder to find.
Another round, another amateur hour Production. The broadcast has no sound on the youtube feed. Switched over to GCN+ and the picture is zoomed in 20x. ...

Nevermind Redbull, OLN had better production back in the day than GCN+ does in 2023.
i asked this on results post, but does anyone know why kiefer (fastest junior men's quali) dropped in 4th from last for race run? bodhi kuhn (2nd place quali), dropped last.
on the overall standings i don't see a quali points total and on quali results sheet there's just a - next to "points" indicating no points for jr quali.
my original thought was maybe kuhn took overall points lead after quali, but that doesn't seem to be the case. shouldn't fastest qualifier (kiefer) drop last? or at least leader's jersey holder at the time, hauser?

I was puzzled by that as well. I could find nothing in UCI's rules to explain why the start order didn't match up with their (reverse) qualifying results. Tegan Cruz qualified 3rd but started 5th from last, as another example. I'm sure there's an explanation, but I'm not seeing it.
have heard everyone on site is confused too.
raw is up from this morning before the rain

Sorta like all number plates will change except for the top 10 from last year so this year's series leader has plate 11 and the current #11 (Dak) has plate 21.

So plates are basically meaningless now.
THIS. The new number plate rules flew under my radar leading up to the season. As in, I didn't think it would be a change that I would care about during the season. Well turns out, I'm longing for the days when you could see a number and know what place that rider stood in the overall. I relied on that way more than I realized. I could care less about associating #5 with Bernard Kerr all season. I've long forgotten who finished where in the top 10 last year lol
This is so frustrating, can we not do this? Had the race spoiled before I had a chance to watch the whole thing

Agree, the last few years I at least had peeks on SM that reminded me to shut it down before watching the race. I've not bothered to watch either race yet because I knew what happened moments after I woke up in the morning.
Not sure if it was actually better or if I’m just getting used to it but I thought the semi-final and finals broadcast was actually pretty good this week. Already improving on graphics, running order and commentary.
Also real happy for the Austrians. It was only a matter of time for Kolb and to do it at his home race is very cool. 6 to go and I’m hoping for 6 more race winners!

To be fair that is on Youtube and you were never going to see the race there unless its pirated. I had same issue going to watch Semi's last week only because App was not working at all. I noticed a video about 40th win and pretty much knew who was going to win.

Kuhn and Kiefer were the only ones to finish top 5 after the weather delay, and they're now 1 and 2 in standings with 100 and 80 points, respectively.
Hauser is 3rd in points with 76 after a 13th place finish.
Has qualie been stopped or is the live timing just down?
Okay, resumed. Must have dumped a bunch more rain, times are considerably slower.
GCN = Gonna Crash Now

For me, as a fan of dh and cause I wasted money paying for it, GCN = Gonna Cry Now.
Half way in you can see the storm that rolled through

Well this looked terrifying!
Is the main clock next to the rider's name supposed to reflect if they're up or down or is it just a crappy design choice to make it green?
i think it's always green which is confusing.
Wasn’t planning on waking up early for semis but now that Sam Hill has qualified I feel like I have to
https://www.wideopenmountainbike.com/2023/06/amaury-pierron-out-of-leogang-with-a-c5-fracture
Amaury out with a C5 fracture?
Yup.
Yeah sad news. On the flip side I’m pumped for Leogang next week 🤘
leogang bike abuse vid. really showcases how tricky conditions were!
Just finished watching semis and finals and overall think it was pretty good coverage but noticed a few things that need improving:
- Not having a camera on the hot seat as the final rider came down: WTF? They missed the reaction and celebration in the men's race
- Ric/CG either have different split info than what's broadcast or are ignoring it/not incorporating it into their commentary
- Ric needs to stop saying "N tenths down" when the rider is N tenths up
- Still too many zoomed in shots of the bikes
Minor niggles maybe but not acceptable for what's a paid-for, "premium" product.
Uhh, Leogang was today

Not having drone shots from so far above the track that it takes 5 seconds to locate the ant sized rider would also be nice.
Highlight of yesterday's coverage for me was the sound bite from the interview girl after speaking to Vali during the semis.
