Official sponsor of the Downhill World Series of World Cup Downhill just posted uncooked highlights from semis on their youtube, so there's your free semis coverage
I guess the silence in the internet says it all. Everyone is so disapointed that they just continue their daily buissness instead of superfaning the DH WC
It does feel like moving semis to a seperate day and not televising it just a precusor to just having top 30 qualifiers in finals.......which is...

Definitely. Let’s break it and neglect it to justify our original claim that it needed fixing.

"We've listened to your feedback and the opinion of riders is super important so in line with their wishes we are pleased to anounce ceasing semi finals , only having top 20 qualifiers in finals and only elite registered teams will be eligable to race. It's a tough decision but we are 100% commited to doing what is best going forwards"
Worst thing is that they had cameras on for the semis. They showed them on the big screen on-site. A bloody YT/Twitch stream would have been perfectly fine and cheap!
After watching the Vital Raw's, i dont think theres another rider on this planet that is smoother than Loic Bruni. His upper body just doesnt move and his bike always looks in control. So fun to watch him

re: rain in semis, here's what jack rice said - "last quarter of men's semi was raining, so loose dirt at top probably had good grip." sounds like the dust/loose at top was tough to navigate and rained helped.
Yes, he is right, but rocks got slippery, and huge holes appeared everywhere on the top of the track. They put a lot of people out.

Exactly how red bull TV used to do it too. Live footage shown for qualis on site for the fans at the venue and for us on a pre show. Only finals shown actually live on streaming.
Irony is with only one to two minute gaps between riders on a four plus minute track the semis coverage would have had to miss out lots of riders (2-3 on track at once). So the hard core haters would have just complained about how bad the coverage of semis was if it was shown 😂😂😂

Check out Martin Whiteley’s interview bit on the Making up the Numbers Ft Bill podcast episode. Gives some indication of a big change for next year. He appears to be fairly confident there is strong consideration for the last chance qualifier approach and/or a “World Cup 2” addition. I’d consider him one of the most reliable sources in MTB so there must be some serious movement on WB’s side for it for him to make the statements he did. We can only hope it’ll get better somehow because the current format sure is messin’ with the vibe of the sport.
Can someone in Fort Bill please stream the big screen in the finish area?! So we could watch the finals. Or one of the teams make a stream on their instagram.
I still can not believe the silence about the let down of the fans.
And absence of return on investment for the brands and sponsors and even for the UCI. Money and laws are once again set over simple solutions for the community. Every single unbroadcadted race is a loss. Fort Bill is a mega loss.
And I do not care about the eventual changes MW said are going to be implemented for NEXT year. He sais that even before the first race of the season is done. I need a solution NOW, before this race

Finals will be regularly broadcasted. Just not for free like last year.
Yes. Because even with a subscription I can not watch. And what law should that be? The I am not allowed to stream a landscape law? You need to be realistic. I paid for something I do not get and I still have hope that someone understands that there are probably toussnds of fans in the same situation. Setting up a camera gor a stream would be the most simple way of providing a minimum of information. Even the UCI and Chris Ball should be able to understand that.
Alternatively I am absolutly willing to listen to a radio. Rob Warner could make a live pirate broadcast from the track. That has all the of potential to be fun. The only downside is that it very much 1950s vibe and not 2024 with world wide internet.
I allways hated the idea of laws being restrictive without interest to the whole community.

I don't know the specifics of your situation, but how have you paid for a stream and can't watch it?
Advocating that teams and people violate copyright because your in a shitty situation is incredibly short sighted.

I really hope that's the case as a last chance qualifier could be really exciting, if they broadcast it . Even if it doesn't fit on a broadcast length TV show then at least a live stream on you tube is surely doable.
I watched the first couple of semis last year but even for a fairly dedicated fan I found it far to much time out of my day and pretty soon was watching just the finals .
This can't be sustainable for teams either , MS intense and Intense factory racing with no riders through to race day . Santa Cruz and Scott with only their elite females in . Its a lot of money to spend for hardly any coverage on the main show .
For the people asking who's protected, you can see that at every start list, riders protected have a P next to their name and as I heard, "p" would mean protected for semis and "P" protected for semis and finals, but I haven't seen that yet, maybe it would appear in the next rounds.
In the latest MoiMoit tv O'Callaghan said it was a bit slick at the top. A few top riders crashed. Fastest times were also slower than the qualy.

troy's vlog from today with qualifying run (sorry thought it was semi-finals run)

Gonna be like Christmas morning waking up to those gifts... (But probably not gonna wake up to catch it live lol.)
C'mon Hauser I believe in ya!! Hope he's feelin ok by now.
15 minute highlight video for 2.5 hrs of racing. These guys don’t get it at all.

I have Eurosport and they show the Giro and do not stream the WC. I pay taxes to gett it.
You definitly missed your job. You should work for the UCI (or the russians)

they dont show it on discovery+!?
Chris Hauser 🇮🇹 is out, too banged up to race after the crash in practice.
Did anyone see on Moi Moi Tv them fixing signs in start area when Conner Fearon was trying to start, classic UCI i guess
