Write it down now. Someone's gonna get DQ'ed by the worst placed golf tee in history. This thing should NOT be used as a pivot for a turn in this situation.
before poland, tyler went to the EDR w/ yeti squad. he was filming for them on a borrowed bike w/ reverse brakes (to him). accidentally went OTB and wrecked his wrist or arm. super bummer!
just got audio message from jack, who asa was chatting to at the finish line. off camera asa was red flagged in the woods, so he stopped. no apparent reason for the red flag. no re-run for asa as per officials. assumed b/c tv/race schedule is on the line.
maybe there's an explanation from the officials or something at some point, but that's what we have so far.

It's an absolute travesty that he's not getting a rerun (speaking from the point of view based on my fantasy picks).
sven just confirmed same and added "he was running a gopro, so we'll see on footage what happened."
this could very easily be the loss of an overall win. asa wouldn't have won the race, but would have easily earned some points if he finished his run at that pace he was at during the red flag.

Very Unfortunate. Had the rest of asas run been clean he’d probably have slotted in between 4th and 10th place depending on his woods section. Big points difference towards the overall lost out.
wish at this level you had professional course Marshalls.
Asa confirming on PB insta that it was NOT an official's red flag, rather a fan with a "red beer flag" and it was his mistake. BRUTAL. assuming his gopro showed the reality

Big up to Asa for a mature interview and owning up to this. The kid has class
Anyone know what happened to Tyler Waite? He last posted in Fort Bill, but wasnt on the start list for Poland or Leogang.
Tyler’s one of my good mates so such a shame to see him get injured, he’s out of a cast and just in a wrist brace now, just has to go through rehab now.
at least on stream it looked all cool, what happened?
As the Spesh team celebrated and congratulated eachother on the 1 - 2 result, the cameras showed him sobbing and being consoled in the finish arena. I wonder if he is feeling the pressure of not performing as well as his teammates ?

just rewatched it. maybe we have different streams as i haven't noticed anything.
Commentators (including Gwin) mentioned multiple times the difficulty in setting the bike up for the different sections of the track. Then Loic and Finn go 1-2 with their magic secret Ohlins electronics, leaving Williams who was on the uncovered "stock" Ohlins down in 17th.
Who knows whats going on the background in Specialized Gravity, would be sad if they are edging him out. Williams would be lead rider on most teams but here he's third string and seemingly not getting the best set up.
I think it is a very weird dynamic of a team, but very successful team. From the outside, here, bashing on a keyboard it appears like Loic is the god of the team. At one point on the stream Laurent didn't look that happy for Finn doing well as Loic was still to come down. However it can't be that bad, as Finn has been there a long time, despite him mentioning in a track walk video it was nice to be around English speaking riders in Schladming. Grice left, why? Jordan has always looked awkward around his other team mates, desperate to try and fit in around the finish line. A struggle for any new rider especially if you are a bit awkward socially.
Other notes from the weekend,
Is Josh and Rachel the worst commentary team ever?
Why oh why do we go to these two rider late interviews as "live" riders are hitting the gnarly root and stump section? Of course I wanna hear from Remy, from Lachie, but not when Lachie has been knocked off by someone else all whilst Danny Hart hits the roots at full speed. It's so painful.

Injured himself I think.

Not finding much E-edr coverage or even results anywhere. A bit of a power stage looked entertaining. Hope we'll see more
What happened to Asa in the woods? DQ’d?
yeah that was very odd that he got red flagged like that.
Really impressive run by the junior mens winner given the conditions.
It was very strange, you get DQ'd after your run if you go off track, you don't get stopped mid run. At least that's how it's worked in the past.

Jordan Williams seemed pretty emotional after the race ended.. hope the guys alright

I came to the realization this morning watching FiveTen’s IG clips that Brett Tippie should be in the booth with his energy and love for the sport.
