And I correct that Jesse maintained a 29/29 set up on his Rocky? Whereas Remi and ALN were mixed 29/27b?

Was hoping we might see some weirdness to get his new Canyon mixed but probably not based on a 3 second Google search for his bike check.

Can't wait to see Jesse, Jack, and Richie continue their battles. Hopefully Martin is in the mix too.

2000th: who's left to discuss here?

Mr. Moi Moi , Kasper and Angel seem to be like the only ones left. Seems to be something going on with the Specialized Enduro team too since they haven't released their team roster yet. Saw somewhere that Transition is putting together a "Factory" team... That still has to be announced.

Yep: "Wheelset: Turbine R 27.5 + 29 (Remi & ALN)"

Wonder how big of a thing the switch from Fox/Shimano to sram/RS is going to be, as well as the more balanced rocky geo to über long front center/short rear on the canyons.

jesse if you’re reading this, what were some of the factors that made you move from a winning setup to something completely new?

A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster.

I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

I bet the Strive is actually right up Jesse's alley. Stuff like built-in reach adjust headset cups should be perfect for someone who likes to tinker and fine-tune his racing setup.

And the really cool thing about the sizing system of the Strive is that you can up- or down-size to your hearts content and choose the size of your bike by your prefered reach alone.

It’s interesting to me that Canyon had the money to lure him away from Rocky but not enough to just keep Moir in the first place.

Going off his appearance on Dean Lucas’ podcast, he seemed pretty committed to enduro. Wonder if he’ll mix it up and race a couple dh world cups on his new team

Hell yeah Jesse! Wish you all the best for the next racing season Smile

Could you by chance tell us nerds a little about your race bike? Which size will you run? Which parts? Etc...

And will you by chance at some point be trying Canyon's super secret prototype rear shock? A little birdy told me they've got something in the works.

I read this as being a completely separate entity to the enduro Nukeproof factory team…. Which doesn’t really make sense given the two series have a fair bit of crossover this year with DH and enduro races at some venues?

I know Sam Hill has also hinted at a potential World Cup DH return, will that be on some form of bastardised DH version of the enduro team? The only difference seems to be conti v Michelin tyres?

Two totally different teams - i believe the factory in the Conti team is the 'Conti' part of it, it's not a factory Nukeproof team. At all the races they are in Conti pits - it seems Nukeproof is just a frame supplier to them.

Enduro team run all the nukeproof brand components rather than another brand. Also enduro team running nukeproof wheelsets rather than dt swiss

Someone said about Jack Moir wanting to ride DH instead of enduro , remember he only took the canyon enduro deal because he got ousted by Gwin , would be a bit special if he teamed up with Sam Hill on a Nuke DH all Australian team ! ,and they both ride for Monster Energy, you never know!

He has a post on his story about some special stuff and there is a bike in a stand blacked out. This is probably exactly what’s going on.

I should have written "...wants to race DH too..." so not full-time but in addition to EDR whatever the hell it's called now.

I hope it's an adjustable travel coil shock with electronic wired lockout that passes thru the headtube!

He likely can't size down enough on that Size Small Strive! It's massive. Medium (or larger) in most brands.

This isn't really a 'team rumour' but moreso a move to MTB: Peter Sagan wants to stop racing exclusively WorldTour road at the end of this year and focus on Olympic MTB for Paris 2024

https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/peter-sagan-to-retire-from-road-at-end…

He seems to indicate he will stay on with his current road team (which as far as I know doesn't have an XC team), but they're on Specialized so he won't have to pull a Pidcock and run an unbranded frame to please sponsors.

It will be very very difficult for him to qualify if he doesn't start racing MTB this year. Slovakia is ranked 30th in the world and will only have 1 slot in Men Elite. If Sagan doesn't World Cups this year, there's no way he can overtake SVK's world cup riders.

Sagan would have to either be European or World Champion to qualify and I sincerely doubt he is good enough to win any of these right now.

Interesting, was going to say maybe tristan liemere onto rockshox trek because the other day he posted the rear end of a bike with sram rotor and caliper and maxxis rubber and I thought what teams are there that run sram and maxxis that haven’t announced new people and only team I could think of was rockshox trek

I would assume he and his team are well aware of this. Will likely do a small schedule of world cups in 2023 to accumulate the points required to beat out any other Slovakians for the position. And if he doesn't get enough points for some reason and is sitting second--he/his team will likely write a big check to the top Slovakian for him to forfeit his position, thereby it goes to Sagan. I believe this happened last year with another high profile rider. Blanking on who it was.
