This could be legit to be fair, I’ve a friend who works for muc-off and said they’ve recently laid some people off for financial reasons. They also dropped Lando Steezy (instagrammer/influencer type) a couple of months back and he put a bit of a bitchy post on SM - deleted but I found a screenshot from the time… he seemed pretty pissed.
I could see why Mucoff dropped him. He hasn’t done any contests since that one time he wasted his invite to rampage. It just seems like why would you pay someone who barley puts out any content or is that active in contests. It just seems to me he is much more into advertising his trust fund money buying him a passion project recreational pilots license. I hope MucOff puts more money into up and coming dirtbags from an inner city, not some rich BC trustfunders who probably don’t even need sponsorship to begin with. Also who wants to pay $1000 for your bull$h!t helmet if I’m paying $1000 for a new lid it’s having my custom graphic on it. I used to own Andreau Lacondeguys winning rampage wheels I acquired them from a gift. A rad guy like that would not be trying to over charge for some whack hype helmet.
Like how Specialized dropped the entire ambassador program, including people with multi-year paid contracts.

I could see him on GT with Rachel. He’s pretty close with the team, and GT seems as interested in personality as results. They also just “lost” their DS specialist in Joey Forests, so there is an opening there.

Specialized did NOT drop their entire Ambassador program. Only the 40-50 GLOBAL Brand Ambassadors that brought in a paycheck. There are still several Ambassadors who all got re-signed and even joined the program for 2023, these Ambassadors don't get a paycheck.

Brands will look at how someone exits other brands. Assuming that they have apparently had a good relationship, leaving with a note of thanks, even if you are disappointed, shows your professionalism and potentially what you will be like to work with. I worked in marketing for a while and whenever anyone was engaged to represent the brand, we trawled their back catalogue of press and social media to make sure they aligned with our brand values both during and at exit. This sort of thing would be a red flag because it suggests potentially a loose cannon. Those not in marketing might see this narrow minded but when I am completing a review with the boss and they want to know why a slagging off has gone viral painting our company in a shit light, it is painful (and sometimes career ending)
Even if you are pissed off, you do the thank you video, even if is a bland highlights reel, call out some key people that helped you on the way and leave the consipiracy theories to your fans (assuming you have one). 6 months later you might do a podcast or two talking about the challenges or why the mood went south but by then it is out of contracts season and the decision makers are less nervy.

I wouldn't take this as cutting fringe employees so much as cutting ineffective marketing strategies. Many of the aforementioned global brand ambassadors didn't have huge followings in already niche segments of the industry (bikepacking for example). Spesh is still certainly flush with cash, I'm sure their just investing it in the kind of marketing that makes existing riders buy their bikes (racing, edits, innovation, etc.).
Downturn in the industry means you have to hit core riders, rather than trying to attract new segments IMO. The boom still brought in many riders who have stuck around, cutting certain marketing strategies isn't necessarily a sign bikes are in all-out freefall.

Who the fuck charges $2000 to paint a helmet good christ
Reece has flexed this helmet on his insta for two years consecutively, with this exact photo. Both in August '21 and June '22. What he's selling must be one of a few, because it also has the same livery as helmets that are obviously being used. Doubt they were $2000 a pop if he's got multiple sets.
Seems like a sure sign he's off Muc-Off, selling 'em for that much seems like a lame way to let them go though, especially for a guy who's recently built a whole home. No diss, but I prefer the Scotsman lol
Don't know to much about Reece, but he was the only MTB-rider I'm aware of, that raffeld off a bike to donate to Ukraine (not totally sure, but I think Canadian Red Cross to help Ukrainians). He can do a lot wrong, to still be a good guy in my book.

Sam Hill on the move?

Looks like Melanie Pugin won't be riding for BH Bikes anymore in 2023, according to her Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cme1WXKslSK/
Hannah Barnes seems to still be on their roster.

I was riding at Dyfi bike park a few week back and the whole 50to01 crew were there. Craig Evans was riding a prototype Airdrop bikes frame.
Airdrop makes even more sense. They basically make a DJ, a jib/4X bike, and a 27.5 longer travel bike, which all suit 50to01’s style well.
Was a DH bike he was riding, so I guess that just about completes the lineup eh!!
Airdrop Slacker is their DH bike, not a proto anymore, can buy one now I believe.

Was 100% a proto he was riding, they were testing different rockers on it i believe.
50/01 former SC free agents will be split between diesel, 2 stroke, unleaded and 4 stroke.... One remains on SC though.
My guess would be Sam Dale stays on, since he race a lot of large format enduro or whatever that genre is called.
Also, every time I see your username I think it says “Dickcutsrock” which is awesome, so no malice intended

No doubt. Reece must have stolen his girlfriend or something.

Was he supposed to build half a home? 2/3 of a home? How much of a home is acceptable to build?
