Long term durability when talking about Crackmencal?
Being old I remember the 'Commenfail' era of the Meta5/6. And we sold a LOT of them.......and they ALL cracked :0(. But that was in the past, apart from the Supreme issues not heard of any significant failures since then.

Joe Breeden seems to be getting along dandy fine with the heavy bike in this week's Vital RAW. And I thought people were adding lead weights to their bottom brackets last season. Seems like you have to do a lot of work to shave 5 pounds off a frame. Would be shocked if it's that much.

I can’t imagine the Commencal team is running a bike that heavy. Maybe you can shave 4 or 5lbs with thinner tubing? Team bikes won’t need the long-term durability of a consumer product.
My V5 is 42ish and my Trek Session was 39ish. All same parts.
The linkage, bearings and bolts are pretty can heavy on the V5. If you remove the seatstay bolts they are thick steel. Just those 2 alone I was like “wow” then add up about 12 other bolts.
Personally I don’t mind the weight, I bet the team is running full ti bolts and potentially could have links made in other materials to save weight.

My 5.5 took 7 years to crack on the swingarm (non drive side, brake fatigue). Apparently the most common crack of the top tube to seat tube joint was limited to medium and small frames, L and XL were OK.

Top tube/seat tube junction. Upper shock mount (on L/xl). Linkage mount on the down tube. Iirc we sold 24 in 2010 and replaced all bar one of them. At one point I had 11 boxes of components waiting for replacement frames to arrive. Several customers had multiple frames replaced. It was a stressful time to be running a workshop!
i went through 3 meta frames this year in about 3.5 months.
2 TR's cracked at shock mount, SX broke at the chainstay.
Friend of mine had his TR seperate the headtube on a small drop and he spent 2 weeks in hospital... i believe this is ongoing.
Looks like the same frame, even the idler that Mondraker tested isn’t present. Probably to hide some new shock or something!
Thought it could be the Vorsprung shock, but then saw the name on the screenshot - Sprung… or yet again, come to think of it since they’re using Fox, it might be a new Fox shock…
That's what he said, but Seth showed that it doesn't actually work. The general consensus is that Jesse just covered his tracks.
Seth wasn’t willing to drill a hole in his seat was he?
It’s a normal AXS dropper, normal battery. Different seat clamps to get the right angle and then the plastic drilled out to allow the seat to get to that angle.
Chainstay to lower link junction looks different than the current alu Summum. It looks like the lower link is mounted higher.
Although BullDog mentioned in a podcast they have a new Bike ready, as the previous iteration didn’t meet the riders expectations. Therefore happy for the team that they have soonish a new rig to be competitive.

I think most of the followers of this topic would prefer it to not be this way :/
Speaking of you...
Mind sharing how tall you are? Just to get a feel for how much reach you run vs. size. Also, regarding the rims, no issues with the shape of the tyre running a somewhat narrow rim (considering the WT casing was designed for ~30 mm rims...)?

EX511s are 30 internal. Unless the thumbnail isn’t accurate and he actually runs 471s, didn’t watch the video

I'm pretty sure I'm 167cm tall.
Not really! I was worried to run the 2.5 on the front but I didn't notice any issues, and because I run DHR2 on the rear I am able to run a 2.4 if I'm running the 471 in the rear. Honestly, I still haven't found my perfect wheel setup/choice yet. Still testing, still learning.
I came from 2.4 Maxxis on 33mm inner width rims, to 2.4 Maxxis on 23mm rims. Almost no issues regarding traction and the tire’s shape. Bu did notice the real reason for the rim change (actually complete wheels’ change) - some 750-760g down on weight!

Dakota mentioned that he thinks he’s losing time in pedal sections on a heavy bike no matter how hard he is pushing. He said this bike, they are trying to make more well rounded.
It’s a good podcast that talks a lot about the new bike.
Did he actually measure if and how much time he was losing on the pedal sections? And how would they determine its because of the extra weight? These things can be measured in a number of different ways without much difficulty these days......
via email blast, formula MOD shocks now in DH sizes w/o lockout (not ground-breaking, but figured some here may want to see)

Amen. I was really hyped when I saw that Formula was working on that dual crown selva. Dual crowns for enduro make so much sense, but I'm pretty sure there's only one option on the market right now, which is the MRP Bartlett.
On the off chance that somebody from Formula is just lurking on this forum, please show the enduro dual crown some love! It's been over a year since the projected release date...

Did a little searching and here's a pic from Bikerumor (at Sedona last year) of a prototype DVO shock with the dual compression adjustment knob from the Jade coil shock:

Anyone heard something about the release of the new Boxxer and Vivid?
Have a look some pages back

Able to run a 2.4 DHR? I was under the impression the DHR II only comes in a 2.4 (WT) variant

In the video the bike has EX471s
There's a 2.3 as well, a 2.4 and a lot of the Maxxis pros have access to the 2.5" pro only version
That last part is what I was aiming at, obviously
Looks looks like a fast mix between Assegai and DHF. Could be a goldilocks. Praying for a super soft / super trail
But will they ever release that dual crown Selva?

DVO's page for the Jade X Coil mentions an "X series" so I assume it's just a matter of time:
So as far as dvo dampers go, X Gona give it to ya.
Just some nice details to look at. The built in fork bumper is pretty trick.
It’s not a secret spyshot, but I think this interesting beast wasn’t mentioned yet.
