This.
28 spokes on 29" rims don't work particularly well (at least with aluminium rims). I've had to replace spokes on my XM1501 wheelset (2019, so XM481 rim) after two seasons since the spokes started to go one after another. It was OK on a similar 650B wheelset.
And 150 USD for a rim? How much is an EX511 over there? It's ~80 € here in Europe. It's hard for me to see a reason not to go with an EX511 (maybe FR541 if needed) and 350 hub combo to be honest... It's such a no-nonsense workhorse.
At MSRP, $USD:
DT 350 Rear Hub: $285
DT 350 Front Hub: $113
DT EX 511 rim: $150 x 2
DT Comp Spokes: $0.95 x 64
Parts only is $760 for DT stuff in the US for a 350/EX build.

The guarantee isn't quite the same as their carbon wheels. If there's a manufacturer defect with your wheel like a seam split, you get a replacement; but it's only a 50% off crash replacement discount for dents etc.
I think it's still a whole lot better than what you get from other alloy rim manufacturers, but they're not quite the NQA alloy wheels we've all been dreaming of.
DT rims are crazy expensive here, but they're so much stronger than the competition it's like an addict complaining with their dealer about price. Like, sure, go buy a different rim. I'll be here when your new Stan's/WTB/whatever rim is a stop sign.
Apparently paint chips are important to the warrantee. It'd be hilarious if the rims were anodized. I do wonder if those warrantee terms will still be the same in a year or two. Seems a bit too good to last.

For sure. I imagine Reserve having to change their policy after getting mountains of badly dented rims piling up haha.
Didn't know we had it that good over here. Rear boost 350 XD hub is 165 € (150 for the HG version!), front boost hub is 60 €. EX511 is 75 € a piece (with nipples of course) and if you can find DT Competition spokes in the correct length (it's a pain to get them lately...) they are ~60 € for the complete rolling set. So 435 € without building the wheels.
The pink side has a bunch of cool photos of the lugged proto pivot. Looks like I was right about it being custom molded carbon tubes (hence curved and shaped) in cnc al lugs.
Listened to a bit of the Ride Along podcast and realized Team Robot was clearly trying to send us a hidden message in the photo!!!
The hands are a dead give away! One is clearly the NC State wolfpack gesture which is a similar species to a fox (aka Fox Factory). The other hand is in a rock-on gesture, so obviously Rockshox. Only “V” on his shirt is visible, which doesn’t mean anything, but when you combine it with the “DC” it forms “VDC” the abbreviation for voltage direct current which is the basis for any battery powered device, including…. suspension! Then, again, if you look at the hands they are perfectly at the same level which is too random to be a coincidence, until you connect the hands and find it forms a super mustache! Who in the bike industry has a super mustache???? GARY FISHER!!! Therefore Gray Fisher is developing electronic suspension to destroy Fox and Rockshox!!! Thanks Team Robot!

Maybe it's the MicrosoftPaint-esque superimposed scribbles, maybe it's the wild writing and conjecture: this reminds me of LitterMag, and I'm all nostalgic for it. #givemebackmyslideshows

don‘t know if it fits in tech rumors, but on jesse melamed‘s last IG story dimi tordo was also not on the strive, looked like a spectral. would be funny if he would also tackle the new season on the more balanced (geo-wise IMO) spectral instead of canyon‘s strive enduro bike.

Read the warranty rules again - if the rim does not hold air, it can be claimed as warranty - regardless if the paint is chipped or not.
GX AXS and X01 AXS builds for the new Smuggler don't have images on Transition's website and are unavailable to order (though it says they'll ship in April). Looks like all of the test bikes were sent out with cabled X01 groups, though mechanical X01 isn't even a build option to buy.
Likely that these builds will feature the new GX and X01 AXS groups? Reinforcing the April release date?
big boy @jonathon Simonetti rode the reserve alloy wheels

Hot damn, an EX511 is 150 USD over the pond?
Hot damn, those warranty terms are amazing.

Surely they are anodized?

Blink twice if you are in trouble Robot!
Found some more. If you're looking Transition, i'll take one with RS suspension in order to shut up
Nice that they're offering alu and carbon options...
Looks good.

Because someone asked, here is Wyns latest sm posting, allegedly with the new Sensor in:

I'm surprised PB gets anyones marketing cash considering how shit their backend has been for years now -edit: campaign launched a few hours later...
Pretty sure that pic was included for you

Another shot of the new RS rear shock on the back of Moi Moi’s bike. Maybe not so secret anymore if he’s showing it in his own vids.
Here is another look at it
maybe they launch it in march together with the new boxxer. would make sense.
First Smuggler review is out. I'd guess T-minus an hour and half until Vital's goes live...

peep Moirs brake levers on that screen grab, looks new but different finish from the others I've seen.

Was just prepping these images when I saw your post. Haha.
Clearly visible: New Codes, AXS shifter paddles, and Vivid Air shock.
