Pinkbike's, erm, ”information” was pretty much a compilation of what people are talking around here since 15+ pages now. Wink I am a bit surprised that they are trying to detour even this kind of talk to their site, when people are talking about it on Vital since Team Rumors first started; not that they haven't taken enough ”inspiration” from this site already. Maybe Mike should detour a few crates of lager to the HQ of Vital as well. But hey, what am I talking about here???

Let's rather stick to the team innuendo, as someone said before. Sincere apologies for this off-topic!

Pole will launch an EWS team this fall. No more info than that, but seems to be a step up from supporting Leigh Johnson with a frame/bike deal+.

Anyone ever mentioned AG to Intense or Spesh in here... ;-)

Gwin to Intense sounds good and all... Easy to make a connection given the proximity between them, but I don't see intense having Gwin type of money...

If you zoom enough to the polished area on the floor, you can see the logo of frame maker in the reflection...

Do you want to expand on this thought? Not all of us have super powers.

Martin Maes signed a 3 year contract (extension) with GT again. I think everyone figured he would stay there.

maes with GT for 3 more years

----------------------press release-----------------
Martin Maes to Race with GT for Three More Years

GT and GT Factory Racing (GTFR) today announced that the Belgian phenom Martin Maes will keep the good times rolling with his GT family for the next three years. Now that the dust has settled on a stellar year, Maes can focus on preparing for more Enduro World Series (EWS) wins and more World Cup downhill victories in the 2019 season and beyond.

Since joining GT in 2013, Martin Maes has taken the EWS scene by storm, racing on some of the toughest courses and against fierce competitors globally. “I’ve grown up on GT bikes, and I can’t thank them enough for their support over the years,” said Maes. “I’m pumped to continue with GT and my goal of winning a World Championship. I look forward to riding all over the world on the EWS circuit and at other races with a team who believes in me and the sport of mountain biking.”

“Martin is a very gifted rider, and he has also always been both humble and professional. At the young age of 21, he brings a lot of experience to the team,” commented GTFR team manager Mark Maurissen. “I couldn’t be prouder of Martin and GTFR. We are going through this adventure together, and I can’t wait to keep watching Martin chase down medals all over the world.”

In 2018, Maes made history with a massive win at the World Cup Downhill Finals in La Bresse, France after taking the EWS Enduro win at Whistler Crankworx the week before. He followed up both wins with a silver medal at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in downhill in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

Over the years, Maes has climbed the ranks of the Enduro World Series, including EWS Junior Overall winner (2013), EWS Finale Winner (2016), and of course EWS Whistler Winner. Although Enduro is his passion, fans may see Maes continue to dabble in downhill. His primary discipline for the 2019 season is yet to be confirmed. According to Maurissen, “Martin wants to be world champion. Whether he will focus on downhill or enduro is still to be determined, and GT will support whatever decision he makes.”

Athertons to Marin on the grape vine...
Even if they were bringing a dh bike out it’s a strange move with no real racing experience behind the bike. maybe it’s the only brand that would have the athertons as a collective team?

Athertons to Marin would blow my mind. Even more bizarre than the Bryceland to crack and fail cannondale

that would be crazy. marin and polygon both use that Naild suspension design, so the bike does "kind of" exist right?

Marin would be a good bike sponsor for a certain bike park opening maybe not so much for racing who knows.

Doral industries that own Cannondale bikes also own fabric so looks likely for Rat

yeah they took the Xquareone design and made a dh bike so suppose they could do the same with the marin wolfridge and just make a beefier 29er dh bike

I rode the Wolf Ridge at Northstar...

Despite its homely looks and some questionable specifications (2.3-inch tires), it's a pretty slick bike. Surprisingly good climber. Would I buy one? No

Either way, I could see the DH bike be stellar

Other than the obvious...AG leaves YT Mob...why does AG not follow Martin Whiteley and why does Martin Whiteley not follow AG? Did they have another souring of their relationship? Also 23 Degrees does not have e AG listed as a team member (Angel and Neko are both listed).
