Then I realized that they had anounced de new Jeffsy range, but not the capra's

Capra means goat in italian

Very similar to spanish: Cabra
Isn't one of their riders Italian? I know Angel and Andreu are Spanish... On their website it says "With our award-winning mountain goat..."

Says DW Link clearly on the chain stay. Am I insane to think YT just posted a teaser featuring an Ibis? Same paint, dw link, it's an Ibis as far as I am concerned.

But also, Feb 8th being the day before the UCI releases the rosters can't be a coincidence.

Yeah that's an Ibis. That just made my day, did they really think no one would notice?

it can't be the jeffsy, they lauched it last year and this year model is already up for sale
the capra doesn't have this year model up yet, with most of they being sold out as you woulnd't make more to be stuck with them by launching a new model

More in line with the Jeffsy as in the new Capra being more similar to the Jeffsy.
But apparently its an Ibis.. Good troll from YT.

Best theory I've read so far is that they are gunning down the IBIS as they are the #1 EWS team Tongue

I would doubt they would make that connection. Not a lot of marketing departments like to go around saying their bike isn't the best and that others are and that they *NEEDED* to catch up. Most are content with saying whatever they're doing is the most bleeding-edge boostiest thing around.

And the award for the most Canadian launch edit goes to.....ROCKY RACE FACE!!!!

Introducing the Rocky Mountain Race Face Enduro Team – a truly Canadian partnership hitting the 2018 Enduro World Series! Rocky Mountain riders Jesse Melamed, Remi Gauvin and ALN return to EWS, and RF is stoked to be tackling the season with them.

Formal announcement from TRP as they continue to build out their roster of supported teams and riders:
------------------------------------------------------
COMPONENT MANUFACTURER TRP ANNOUNCE NEW RIDERS

TRP share details of new and extended riders and teams they will be supporting in 2018.

February 6th 2018 - Utah: TRP welcome even more talent announcing new sponsorship’s and will continue to work with riders who have proven themselves to be a great asset to the TRP family.

New teams equipped with TRP brakes for 2018 include the Scott-Velosolutions UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill Team. Rider Brendan Fairclough – arguably one of the most stylish riders on the circuit will be testing the limits of the G-Spec MTB brakes while competing for the top step at events ranging from the UCI Downhill World Cup to Red Bull Rampage. Plus, Gaetan Vigé and Claudio Caluori – who will welcome the renowned reliability of G-Spec brakes during his wildly entertaining World Cup course previews.

Making their debut in 2018 will be the Commencal/100% Team. This young team is constructed of Thomas Estaque, Bruce Klein, and Reece Wilson who will be gunning for a step on World Cup podiums this year after several top 20 finishes each in 2017.

New individual riders for 2018 will include:

Red Bull sponsored freeride athlete Matt Jones. Matt is excited to have TRP’s range of cable and hydraulic brakes in his bag of tricks. Alongside him, King of Crankworx competitor Luca Cometti will also jump on board with TRP for his 2018 quest for the crown.

Mountain bike legend Cédric Gracia will be using TRP brakes as he travels the world organizing his CG Funcamps - helping riders go faster - with style!

The multiple award winning rider Jordi Bago who has excelled at the Maxxis and iXS cups, as well as other Portuguese and Spanish champs, is widely recognized for his technical riding skill and ability on challenging terrains will also hit the trails fully equipped with TRP brakes this season.

Supporting all off-road disciplines, TRP also welcomes on board former Single Speed National Cyclocross Champion Justin Lindine as he travels the US competing in CX and Marathon MTB events.

Ongoing support

Five-time UCI World Cup downhill champion Aaron Gwin has been key in TRP’s product development, after enjoying another fantastic season winning the World Cup title for the second year running on TRP brakes, he has his sights firmly set on a third...

Following on from Rémy Métailler’s awesome win at the Taxco Urban Downhill race last year he will again be riding TRP brakes in races including the gripping Red Bull Valparaíso and Crankworx.

Aaron’s YT Mob teammate Neko Mulally took the top step at the US Open DH race this year, while Angel Suarez will continue with the team as the YT Mob put the G-Spec brakes through their paces in the 2018 DH World Cup, starting in Lošinj, Croatia, 21-22 April.

In the coming months, TRP will continue to focus on developing MTB technology, taking knowledge and inspiration from working closely with team riders and applying it to other disciplines, such as e-MTB and trail riding. Follow TRP Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date.

Have sighted the new maxxis prototype tyres. Not going to say much but they have proper side labelling and everything so must be very close to wide release.

What happened with the "find your young talent"-ad? It just disappeared? Or did i miss something?

the AC signing and gunning for the ibis team aka #1 team in the EWS both makes sense separately - and even more if both are true. Clever marketing if that is the case. AC still have Rachel beat for the GOAT award on the female side right and YT seem to sign a lot of the these older legends - so signing AC again makes perfect sense brand wise. Young Talent = regaining the throne after cancer. Guess we all will find out tomorrow. I would also love the signing of AC as a move to add a top female to the team - something i think more teams should be encourage/required to do. A signing of Nico would be very surprising given his long term commitment to Lafrog (if the GOAT is a male rider), equally so if it is Minnaar (that just seems terribly unlightly). Time will tell.

If they made it slightly lower, approx 2cm longer reach wiser per size as well as significantly chopped the seat tube then they are on to a winner - regardless of whether it is 27.5 or 29. The old capra was pretty damned sorted imo.

I just got a new capra #classic, so i'm not getting a new capra mk2. I hope. Wink

ACC has retired, and I do not see her changing retirement plan now. She has a long history with Max Commencal from the Sunn Chipie days. I also have heard she was not too pleased with the "let's do what the other did 3-4 years ago on geometry" Ibis bikes.

ACC is THE greates gravity mountain biker + BMX Olympic gold++.

I just think they are updating the Capra (mountain goat) and need some attention. I find it highly unlikely Ibis and YT has merged, as they have totally different approaches and audiences (YT very affordable, Ibis not at all affordable). Capra seems to be a copy of Enduro anyway.

Yeah, according to Google ads it seems it'll be the new Capra.
