Transition has the dank taco truck thing going on Everyone in Bellingham works for transition or evil or Kona Santa Cruz marketing was absolutely tempting transition to post that photo on purpose Becasue the embargo was like a week away and the bike was ready to ship We got them all looking for ways to sneak the obvious and make it look sneaky or obvious Nobody got fired and many Tallboys have been sold Smugglers still heavier and spur geo Is conservative compared to tb Tacos. It’s all about tacos.

Maybe the pendulum will swing so far that the next 10 years, the coolest thing is to not film/document anything?

I bet there's a link between the GoPro's decline and the soul crushing boredom of all the videos that our buddies made us watch.

I can confirm the REEB SST works quite well with a coil. Did 40+ miles and 9500ft descending last weekend. It would benefit from 440+ stays but overall it rips!

For those who didn't read the link, "If an individual or retailer are caught modifying an ebike to derestrict its maximum speed, the offence is now punishable by up to one-year imprisonment (two year for retailers) and up to a €30,000 fine." For individuals: "anyone modifying their ebike to exceed the maximum authorized speed – currently 25 km/h for electric bicycles and 45 km/h for speed pedelecs – could now have their bike impounded, face one year in prison and fines of up to €30,000." How much of the appearance that “e-bikes are the only thing selling” is an artificial bubble based on the fact that they are a market that essentially did not exist 6-7 years ago? Thus, we are still working through the initial phase of: everyone who is interested buying into the market (often for the first time) looks like greater demand than what will stabilize over the ensuing 5-10 years. I imagine over time as there are less ‘new’ buyers and the demand becomes only individuals turning over from an older model to a newer one that e-bike sales actually drop...

I test rode a tallboy 6 over the weekend (5mi / 600' vert). It is really, really good. I have a ht4 that I love and I love vpp for longer travel bikes. I don't miss it on the new tallboy in the slightest. It goes uphill as well as the previous version with more traction when climbing square ledges and loose over hard... and goes downhill easily 30% better then the previous version. It is half way in between the tallboy 5 and my hightower 4 with regards to descending. Honestly, it's so good and so well rounded that...

If we compare the new horst link tallboy with the Allied Fitz, Forbidden Reya and Transition Smuggler, there a few difference: Tallboy is the only bike using a trunion shock most likely a 185x50, Smuggler and Fitz use a normal 210x50 shock and Reya use a 190x45 shock. So Reya most likely have a higher starting leverage ratio that could limit heavier rider that are getting close to the shock max pressure. Reya, Smuggler and most likely Tallboy use double bearing setup at the chainstay. Santa Cruz does the same for the Bullit and Vala. Allied Fitz has no exploded...

I’d love to see a shoot out of trail bikes using the same linkage designs. It would really interesting to start to dig a bit deeper as to what sets them apart - quality control, kinematics, maintenance, etc etc.

I’m not pro-Evil but dude this is like bringing up the Pinto as a reason not to get a new Ford. There may be plenty of relevant and current reasons but this isn’t one.
