Rumored 100% quit making helmets, and focusing on sunglasses. That would make sense if true.
Has anyone considered Cami to Atherton? Emily's ties to Continental may have helped put things together. Perhaps a similar paycheck to Kolb as well so a like for like change.

I guess I wouldn’t say there are plenty. Rockrider Ford and Jolanda’s deal seem to be the exception rather than the rule. I remember folks being stoked about Ford supporting a team, but I don’t remember much chatter about Jolanda’s deal, and there hasn’t really been any reporting on the Kate deal.
I will acknowledge that Kate has more announcements to make, and that if no one sent out a press release for this one piece of her set-up for the year, it’s hard for media to know what to say. However, any major non-MTB brands supporting riders is still a big deal, even in XC. I’m tempted to calculate the share of sponsors in XC, DH, and road that aren’t cycling companies.

Smart play by Rivian to prove that their truck can haul a bike around, something one of their direct competitor struggles with.
Though the bike on the back of the truck without a tailgate pad makes me wince.
Realistically though, this sport needs outside money at all levels and it's nice to see something other than an energy drink picking up the tab. If there is one "hopeful" outcome with the gravity side becoming more "elite" is that more outside advertising money might come in..
Edit: Apparently rivian has a bespoke truck pad! I stand corrected

Good move for Rivian.. They have pushed themselves as an outdoor adventure vehicle and sponsoring someone in the MTB world ties in to that. Even before this announcement, they were my pick if I had the funds to buy an EV..
I saw a certain North American who rides for a European team who is supposed to be switching a component brand still riding an old component brand who said the new component brand will give $1,000,000 if the other component brand doesn’t win a single race… rivian out

What does this mean? I can’t figure out the sentence structure, especially with the forced vagueness.

Not sure it this one has been mentioned before but apparently XC Santa Cruz team is gone (it wasnt a factory team but a private Italian team sponsored by Santa Cruz). Luca Braidot to another italian team.
And I've heard that a continental junior champion will be joining Mondraker factory team.
Who gives a shit about how reliable rivians are, anybody's thoughts on EVs, etc, in this thread we should almost always be stoked when non-industry sponsors (making a OEM tailgate pad doesn't teleport them into the industry guys) get in on our guys and gals. Good on her for looking outside the mainline sponsors, who are all on the struggle bus right now, and towards somebody who, for now, is swimming in their scrooge McDuck vault of VC money. Get your bag Kate!
Edit: Those sunglasses upside down and two inches from her head in that photo there turn what would be an otherwise cool photo into a bit of a dud!
Bring back Grundig, Shaun Palmer and shorts in DH and I'll die happy tomorrow.
Shaun Palmer hated shorts. But loved team rumors.
Rumor I heard was spec gravity were off magura brakes. But no idea where they'd go! Maybe Mavens seen as they are officially SRAM sponsored again since last year for drive train?
Also wondering if their gen s team will be at all world cups or Will they do a hybrid plan of select national/continental and world cups?
Congrats to Bailey Goldstone on 3rd this weekend at NZ DH national series round 2. From what I understand from the new rules, because this race was part of the UCI continental series and in the top 5, she gets a entry into a WC race. Does she get to pick which race she enters or does the UCI assign her a race? If she gets to pick, which venue does she pick? Good to see the CDN on the podium 😎

The top 5 in elite and juniors get to pick a race this year or in 2026. If a junior ages up to elite than it is still an option for them in elite.

Easy to come 3rd in the women's Elite when there are only 3 riders (correction 4) in the Elite female field.
Bailey came 12th overall in the female field with 7 x U19 and 2 x U17 riders in front.

Looks like Kate Courtney is riding an Allied BC 40 on her IG pics.

And she's picked up a Rivian sponsorship.
It could be a Rallon with a double crown.
You are right probably it is.
Given the lack of non-cycling sponsors in MTB, how is this not the biggest story of the weekend?
Plenty of non-cycling sponsors in the XC world (Ford for example from the car world), its just DH/enduro that lacks them.
… and I guess Rapha as well.
Can confirm this is the case
Yep and Yolanda with her Mercedes campervans.

This year‘s thread giving me bad socioeconomic vibes.

Perhaps speci switching some parts around,

I’ll repeat my previous comment , congratulations to Bailey Goldstone on 3rd place this weekend, great to see a CDN on the podium
